How to clean eye of dvd player?

You can buy discs that are made for cleaning the laser on a CD player. They look like regular CD's, except they have little bunches of really fine hairs on them. If you just want a do it yourself way, I would use a q-tip and some 99% Iso (rubbing alcohol). The iso will evaporate so you don't need to worry about any moisture left behind.

The shredder doesn't turn off

Try cleaning the eyes in the middle where you insert the paper they may be dirty. If cleaning dosnt help then the eyes or pcb inside could be defective.

Hi my sony dvp-fx820 keep giving me "Can Not Play the disc"???I Message.I have other dvd player it also giving me same Message I Accidently Pushed the progressive button. I'v fixed the problem by...

Laser probably needs to be cleaned. If you can get to the laser eye, check for scratches. With a foam cue tip or lint free cloth, not a cotton swab, with very very light denatured alcohol wipe the eye clean of debris. Clean eye once again with a dry lint free cloth. Check again for scratches, if no scratches the eye should be clean. If this doesn't work, try flipping the player upside down and secure where player is steady. Push the play button and see if it will play. If the player works in this position, that means the mechanics that move the eye up and down are weak. The entire eye assembly needs replacing.

My xbox360 won't read disc, spins for awhile and

The best bet is to try and clean the laser, if the unit is under warranty, contact microsoft and send it back, if not, dont use a laser cleaning kit, they are useless at cleaning and excellent at spreading the grime over the eye. Open the case, an online guide will help you learn the art of pulling apart the xbox, dis-assemble the dvd drive assembly and clean the laser using a cue tip or cotton bud. Good Luck.

Phase linear uv8 DOSE NOT PLAY DVDS

Remove cover of player, you will see glass eye which is laser eye. Take rubbing alcohol and cotton swab and clean the eye with the alcohol soaked cotton swab. If this player is self- fixable, than this will do the trick. If cleaning the laser eye didn't help, than they player will have to be repaired or replaced.

JVC tha75 r where is laser eye bit so i can clean it?

claire_unbre:

When you say laser eye, are you referring to the laser used to read your cd's & dvd's? if so, you can find dvd cleaners at most retail stores. the kit will contain a disc that looks like a dvd with built-in brush & cleaning solution. follow the instructions on the cleaning kit & you should be OK. reply if you need additional assistance.

peace-out
