Question about Electrolux Dryers

1 Answer

Purchased an Electrolux dryer Labor Day 2016. Ever since the first load, it has made a "bang" noise every 5 to 6-1/2 minutes, until the cool down phase. Any idea what could cause this? Thanks

We have have 3 techs out here in the past few months and they still haven't fixed the problem. Last tech replaced 2 thermostats and the idler arm, but that didn't fix the problem. Another tech is coming out again this week. There is also condensation running down from the bottom of the door, down into the pedestal.

My tumble dryer is making a loud banging noise when it turns. It is on for a few minutes and seems to happen when it switches to turn the opposite way

It will be worn slipper pads that are around the front edge of the drum. If your dryer can run when inverted that will stop the noise until the pads wear down again.
Purchase some new slipper pads and remove the back panel of the dryer moving the drum back about 1 inch. You will now see were the slipper pads are fitted around the inside edge at the front.
There will be about 6 of them, you can take the top ones and move them to the bottom. This will also stop the banging until they also wear down.

Why is my Electrolux dryer EIED overheating

Check the exhaust duct. It may be plugged. When it's running, go outside and feel if there is any air leaving the exhaust port where it exits the house.

I think a sensor is being faulty when you load and go to use the unit. Also might want someone to check out the timer on the unit just in case it is going out on you.

The cooling light is always on, and it takes about 90 minutes to dry a load.

In normal operation as the dryer is drying the "drying" light flashes and the "cooling" light is on steady until the 5 minute cooldown at which time the "drying" light stays on steady and the "cooling" light flashes. click on this lg link

My dryer just started making a slight banging noise when it runs

Does it bang all the time or just ar start up?

All the time ... maybe you left a sneaker inside :-)

At start up ... normal noise. The belt has to do some fancy curlie cue stuff at the bottom and it takes a while for it to get stretched back to normal just like you do when you are abruptly awakened (when someone presses your START button) :-)

Let me know if this helps
