How can I keep my laptop cool?

Protecting against heat build-up is essential and should be thought about when purchasing and use a laptop. To help reduce heat build-up and maintain your laptop cool, you need to use a cooling pad. Cooling pads also come in multiple varieties. A few are basic protections, which allow intended for better airflow within the underside of the particular laptop, where heat build-up is more usual to occur. 221c31df-46c5-4d2c-b576-9fe321824164.jpg

Gets hot underneath

That's normal, I suggest you use a laptop dock with a fan at the bottom. You can purchase it to any computer shop near you. It looks like this: The 2 holes has a fan. resmie.jpg

I have a Logitech cooling pad for my Dell 17" Studio laptop with 4 GB RAM and Vista Home Premium. It mysteriously stopped working. When I plug the cooling pad in other laptops, it works fine. I have...

Seems that your laptop's USB ports are not providing enough power to the cooling pad. This could be due to you connecting too many USB peripherals to your laptop. Test if you can get the cooling pad to work by disconnecting all other USB devices.
As a permanent fix, you can buy an active USB hub (one powered by external power source) & connect your cooling pad to it.

My laptop starts to shut down within 20 mintues being on it. my battery don't hold up either, it gets to hot. i've tried a cooling pad also

Good day.
You haven't mention how old is your laptop. Laptop battery operating hours diminished as it gets old. This is just normal for the type of battery being used in our laptop (also in cellular phones). If your laptop is really that old, there is a need to buy a new battery pack, Just be sure of the brand/model before your buy.
In some cases, the cause of your problem is in the charger or the charging mechanism. You may test your charger/adapter using voltmeter for the actual voltage reading and comparing this to the rating stated in the outer case of the adapter. If you observed a discrepancy in the reading, then buy new adapter.

Just let me know if you need some more help.
Good luck.

Bought a belkin cooling pad for my laptop on nov 15th. It quit working after a monthto a month and a half. best buy suggested that i call you and you would replace it for me

Belkin cooling pads are very low quality. I know because I owned one, and it shorted out after only a few months of use.
Not sure what you mean about you calling us and us replacing it for you. You could consult the repair directory on the site but it would be wiser to contact Belkin and see if you have a warranty for your product.
The only thing I can tell you is to not buy a Belkin cooling pad again.
