Worked fine until last night when it just turned itself off. Standby/Timer light flashing. I tried to turn it on and heard a series of clicks then the Standby/Timer light started flashing again. First 2x every three seconds; then I tried turning on again. Then 3x every three seconds; tried turning on again; Then 4x; tried turning on again. Then 5x, with 5th time staying lit for three seconds when the series would start again. Went online and found some suggestions to ''reset'' by unplugging. I unplugged for 15 minutes. Then hit On and the clicks happened again and now the S/T light is blinking 2x every three seconds. I'm now going to unplug it overnight (It's now 11:15 pm in NY) and see if that changes anything in the morning. Any thoughts?
If you unplug it for more than 30 minutes and it still doesn't work, I highly doubt that leaving it overnight will make a difference. The TV tube/screen itself can hold a charge for a LONG time, but the rest of the electronics in the television should lose their charge which will cause most things on the television to reset.
If unplugging it for more than 30 minutes doesn't help, you may have to get the television serviced.
Sony makes some great stuff, but sometimes there's problems just like any other electronics.
Good luck!
