How3 do you remove the mirror from ETX-125-EC for cleaning?

YOU DO NOT! This is a Maksutov style telescope. These must be collimated on an optical bench if the tube is dis-assembled. Meade can do the cleaning properly and or Dr. Clay in Arkansas.

I have a Orion Cassegrain spotting scope (D:90 F:500) that will not focus. The focus knob turns but nothing happens.

The small "pin" which moves the mirror inside may have either come loose or broken. You will need to remove the focuser to find out.

Visit the Mighty ETX web site for instructions on how to do this.

Secondary miror glue spots. What can I do?

Gently use pure acetone (no perfume or dye) on a q-tip. just dampen the q-tip and only use one stroke per q-tip do not use any pressure as this will damage the mirror surface Use distilled water to rinse mirror. LET AIR DRY!

I have an older ETX Astro Telescope or ETX spotting scope. A small rectangular mirror has come loose in the main body of the telescope. It appears undamaged. Is there a manual that shows me how to place...

This is a known issue with the older ETX scopes. You can use silicon sealant or a small amount of hot glue -- and just put the mirror back on it's small platform.

However you might need to disassemble the rear of the scope to do this. See this web site for instructions on disassembly.

2 small lens fell out of my telescope how do I get them back in and where do they go ??

The Meade ETX90 does NOT have small lens! It has a large curved lens in the front. and a holder for the eyepiece in the back (top). There is also a camera port in the back, and a flip lever that sends the light either straight back to a camera, or UP to the eyepiece holder.

There is an INTERNAL secondary mirror mounted on the back of the front large lens. If this fell off INSIDE, you will need to remove the front lens to fix it. NOT an easy fix as the optical alignment can get messed up when you do this.

Here is the manual for an ETX90, you should read it completely.

and for the hand controller:

Can't focus my meade etx-125. have turned focusing control more than 80x in both directions. Is there an stop on the focusing system. Originally had the electric focusing system on the scope couldn't focus...

yup there is a mechanical stop to prevent you from cracking the mirror by retracting or extending it too far.. once you break the pin off it needs to go to the factory for dis-assembly as they have to remove the primary to get to it and realign it my 105 did same thing....word of advise use a cable extender for focus not an electric focuser they fail to tell you that it can over run the built in stops making your scope useless...i may be mistaken but i believe the max turns is 25 or about for end to end focusing adjustment on the 125

Can't focus on anything at all

Here is the manual-- read it cover to cover--

1. Take off the lens cap

2. Put your lowest magnification eyepiece into the telescope on the TOP eyepiece port-- there is a lever on the side which rotates the diagonal mirror between the top and rear ports --- can you see light through the telescope? If not turn the lever.

3. During the day practice focusing on a distant object at least 100 yards away-- the image will be upside down -- this is not a problem-- no UP or Down in space.!

4. The lowest magnification eyepiece is the one with the LARGEST number on it.

ETX 125 Loose image when focusing

The ETX family (and other Meade LX telescopes), use a moving mirror system for focus. The focus knob moves the main mirror in and out. For smooth operation, there is some slack on the central tube that allows the mirror to rock slightly as it moves. That is a normal condition, and the movement is magnified, the greater the magnification of the eyepiece.
