Check your menus under tools for the format option.

Testimonial: "I formatted on my computer but when I put the card in my cell phone, it still tells me it is not formated. has to be formatted on the cell and there is no "tools""

All cell phones that use sd cards will have some tool for formatting a card. Check out your directions, menus, etc.
Maybe card is bogus - install a known good working card and see what happens.

Is there any way i can unencrypt an sd card that was encrypted from another phone?with out formating the SD card??

If you have a mini sd card from a phone and you want to use it in another phone, you will have to format it to that phone.
But, if you find a mini card to SD holder, you can transfer that information to a computer, format it and reload it.

HAVE PHONE, HAVE MEMORY CARD TO DOWNLOAD MUSIC; WHAT'S MY NEXT STEP?

plug the device up to the computer with the micro sd installed and open to view files.........next save the music to the music folder in DCIM. there ya go.....and if you have a micro - mini sd adapter then you can just pop it into your computer after you have formated it on your device. But remember that if you do it out of the phone you will have to format the card by going to the sd menu and selecting format.

My mini sd card is in raw format and my computer can't read it - how do i change it back to fat file system ?

  1. Place the mini-SD card within the mini-to-SD card adapter. Make sure the tab on the mini-SD is facing the upper side of the adapter. Slide it in slowly, being careful not to damage the pins.
  2. Slide the adapter in an SD slot on your computer. If you do not have an SD slot, place the adapter in a USB card reader, and plug that into a USB slot on your computer. Give the computer time to read the card.
  3. Open "My Computer" (usually located in your start menu) and navigate to your mini-SD card. It will usually be recognized as a drive such as "E:" or "H:."
  4. Right-click on the drive and select the "Format" option. A menu window will open.
  5. Make sure that the drive size is set correctly, and that it is set to the file system you wish to use (usually FAT32 on an SD card). If you don't know what file system you should use, just leave it at the default setting.
  6. Enter a volume label, which is the name for the drive, then press start. This process should only take a few minutes.
WARNING
  • Do not use the "Quick Format" option unless you have just recently formatted the mini-SD card. "Quick Format" doesn't completely erase all data and is not effective unless used after a full format.
  • When you format your mini-SD card, all of the data on it will be erased. Make sure to back up your files on the card before formatting

Mini-sd is not being found

Menu --> Fun & Apps --> Sounds --> Options --> View Storage Devices --> Make sure that you have "All" checked, not just Phone Memory or Memory Card. If you don't see both Phone Memory and Memory Card listed, than your phone is not recognizing the mini-sd card. Make sure you have it in the phone correctly, and if you do, then I suggest taking your phone to your carrier's local store and having them troubleshoot it for you. But this should fix it in just a few easy steps.

Computer is not reading my Micro SD, but phone is reading..

What size is the SD card in GBs? If it is larger than 2GB (4 or 8) do you have a SDHC card reader?
Also try formating the card first in the phone and then using it. Using it straight out of the package, while able to be written, my have difficultly with other devices reading the data.
