I would make sure that there is no micro switch that is stuck, and also that the canister is seated properly.

Assuming it was working before and that it is still plugged in, that is all I can think of.

My almost new dyson cordless v6 shows that it has full charge but when I push it he button it pulses on and off every 2-3 seconds

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your Dyson cleaner is pulsating off and on. First, it can be due to a battery of the cleaner. Make sure that the power cable is properly plug to the power and seated properly from the unit while charging. If you find that the battery isn't charging at all, you may need to replace the battery. Second is to check the MAX button of your cleaner. If the button lights up and flashes when your Dyson keeps on pulsating, press and hold the power button and depress the MAX button to turn off the function. You may need to do it for a few times to get the hang of it. Third is to check for any blockages or clogs in the attachments. Look down through the tube and check to see if there are clogs on the sweeper end or if the roller is tangled up in fibers. Clean the roller brush are if it it's necessary. You may need to empty the dust bin of your unit as debris can build up in hard to reach places. Lastly, cleaning the filters may fix the pulsating of your cleaner. Remove the filter and rinse it with cold water and air dry it for 12 hours. Don't use detergent when washing your filters. If the pulsating doesn't go with the given quick fix, I suggest to contact Dyson for further assistance on this.

My Dyson absolute vaccume has no suction. I have cleaned the filters, visually checked all of the hoses. there is no suction from the floor brush or the wand.

Check the ducting that goes from the floor pick-up into the machine, fluff etc often clogs the elbow. Check the pipe that plugs into the floor pick-up as well, it could be clogged further up.

How do I open the dirt cannister on a dyson animal (purple) so I can empty the dirt out?

This is fairly easy. Click on the button at the top of the hand above the cannister. It's a purple button and the handle faces the front and says Dyson on it. This separate the cannister from the body.

Next, hold the now full cannister above a trash can and click on the red button which was below the purple button (but hidden when it was attached).

How do you get to the filter?

Well I presume you've removed the clear plastic bin as if you were going to empty it. Looking at where it was on the main machine there is a plastic tab you can push up and the top flips back. I have to admit until I'd done it the first time it wasn't obvious. Just remember the filter is about the size of a dunkin donut at the top. The tab is on the side that the clear dust bucket restsso put you finger at the top and run it down where the bucket laid until you find a bit of the plastic that 'just' juts out enough that you can push it firmly up and voila. And boy once you've cleaned the filter what a difference

Washable filter is getting clogged with dog hair

I have a Dyson Animal Absolute and a rescue white american eskimo dog and two tabby cats.

We found white hair on top of the washable filter and called Dyson to fix it. There shouldn't be anything on that filter.

The Dyson rep said:

Check the black rubber seal that surrounds the "cyclone" holes as it may need to be pushed down because it isn't sealing properly.

To do this remove the cannister and dump out the stuff in there. Do it outside so the fluff doesn't circulate in the house.

Turn the entire filter part upside down so you can see inside.

Check the seal that is at the bottom of the entire filter part and look at the two half moon "nozzles" that **** up the dirt.. now make sure the black rubber band that surrounds those two nozzles is either up or down... do this then vacuum a bit.. check the washable filter to see if it is clean...make sure the rubber seal actually is sealing.. it should just set into place once you have it done properly.

Now if this doesn't fix it, call Dyson, the number is printed on the front of the machine.. and give them your serial number which is located behind the removable cannister. The machine has a 5 year warranty.
