The Gateway m305 has 3 WiFi hardware options, 2 Broadcom and 1 ActionTec. I have found at times that the wireless adaptor will have its own control and configure software running and it will not allow windows to manage it. If this is so you can manage the connection with the manufactures software or find the option in network connections in the properties of the wireless adaptor to allow windows to manage it. Either way should allow you to connect but I prefer to use windows management. I hope this is of some help. Good Luck

An internal wireless card lets you access the Internet and a home or corporate computer network without the hassle of using an Ethernet or other type of network connection.

The wireless card grabs the communication signal flowing throughout the air and processes the signal through your Gateway PC's Windows operating system so you can access websites, email and related Internet-based services.

But like other devices in your computer, you must turn on the internal wireless card in your Gateway PC before using it.

Turn on your computer, if it is off.

Press and hold the "Fn" key on your computer's keyboard.
Press the "F2" key in the upper row of keys on your keyboard.

The wireless Internet card's connection utility will start searching for a wireless signal.
Connecting to a Signal

Click "Start," "Connect To."
If your Gateway PC is running Windows 7, click on the Windows symbol on the taskbar. Click "Control Panel," "Network and Internet," "View network status and tasks."

Click on the wireless connection you want to connect to.

If using Windows 7, click on "Connect to a network," then click on the wireless connection you want to connect to.

Click "Connect." Enter the wireless connection's network password (SSID), if prompted. Click "Next."

Click "Connect Anyway," if prompted with a message about the connection not being secure.

Click "Close." Open your Gateway PC's Internet browser or email application to start using the Internet connection.

I have a trendnet wireless router tew 432brp, a new hp windows 7 laptop, and old xp laptop and i want to share the connection with my verizon um175 aircard. this has worked for several years with the old...

The router connects computers together . You are using a windows 7 p.c and connecting it to an internet connection via a usb verizon um175 aircard.
I think you need to share the internet connection with the rest of the network and may need to feed the ethernet cable into the feed port of the router. I have not done this before but logically the windows 7 computer would have to act as a gateway to the internet.

http://www.dummies.com/computers/operating-systems/windows-7/how-to-share-an-internet-connection-in-windows-7/

https://www.ibvpn.com/billing/knowledgebase/53/Internet-Connection-Sharing-on-Windows-7.html

Note the default gateway is going to have to be the windows 7 ip address on the other computers
You may need to set the ip address on windows 7 to a static address and then change the dhcp server settings default gateway and also increase the first address to not include the windows 7 ip address or the routers ip address in the lease range for shcp.

Wireless connection will not work

The computer is viewing the signal, but its not connected yet. For that you have to enter a "key" in hexadecimal format. In other words you have to configure the security of the wireless connection on the router, then you have to enter the "key"that the router gives you. To enter the administrative configuration of the router, connect with the cable the computer and in the internet browser, enter 192.168.0.1 or search for gateway IP address of the computer. There you configure Wireless Settings. Always use encryption for security reasons. WEP encryption will be good.

Cannot connect to DLink DIR-655

The part below is all you need to look at, the rest is Ethernet which is your wired connection, ethernet card.

Here is what are causing your problems from what you gave me and basically your computer is not communicating with the router:

1)I don't see any IP address for your laptop so you can't get on the internet if you don't have an IP address, also, I don't see any gateway address. The gateway address is your router address, and that address is given to the router automatically from your Internet Service Provider.

So if your computer cannot see the gateway address then the gateway address (router) cannot give you an IP address to get on the Internet.
Your Wireless card looks ok, that is the physical address and if you were able to do the loopback then its working.

So on your laptop I would begin from the beginning. Go into network connections and delete the DLink connection if it is there. Then Start>control panel>Network connections>click wireless network connection>click change settings of the connection on the left window>click wireless network tab>make sure checkmark"use windows to configure my wireless network settings>click add a new network>TYPE IN THE SSID FOR THE NETWORK>ENTER WEP/WPA KEY>CLICK OK, then close and you should be connected.

You said other computers are able to access the internet thru the DLINK so it all points to your laptop not being configured correctly.

HOWEVER :)...I see alot of "Media disconnected in your list. Make sure all of the lights are working on the front of the router, if not check the cabling or call the ISP sometimes the problem is on their end. Hope this helps, keep me updated.

2wire wireless connection

Yes !
Wireless zero configuration service should run.

Go to control panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services, then then locate and double-click on Wireless zero configuration.
Change the Startup type to Automatic, and then click on Start. (Apply and OK).

Also you have to check your Wireless network settings configuration -> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

If you are using some utility for wireless connection, disable it and try with Windows (standard) wireless connection.

On the end, it might be useful to compare these above settings with the settings on your another computer and find the differences.

Regards.

Unable to open internet page

let you router allocate the ip addresses manually by enabling DHCP and restart the router, and remove the usb adapter from the usb port and reconnect it, but when you right click on the taskbar on the little pc icons for your connection click enable WZC windows wireless Zero configuration as this will dissable the software you got with the usb adapter and hopefully make the connection more stable, but ensure you have a strong signal.

Wireless "Gateway"

Well, a gateway is a machine or router or device that your basically give you access to another network in this case the internet. In short a gateway connects you to another network. for example: IP Address 192.168.0.10 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 GATEWAY: 192.168.0.1 If this happens on any and all wireless network then it could be that your card is configured with a static address or your network card is faulty. What are the chances that all the gateways are not working. Go to Network Connections in Control Panel. Right Click on the Wireless Connection then go to properties. Select TCP/IP in the middle, you might need to scroll down. Click on properties. Make sure that both Obtain Automatically boxes are checked. Press ok then. Then close the wireless Properties. Try again! If it was already set to obtain automatically, You card might be bad or you winsock might be corrupted. Try repairing the winsock. If its Xp with Service pack 2 you are using then download install and run this utility http://files3.majorgeeks.com/files/9bf8d7d48a8543f9d4e60aa9da5e9ef9/internet/xptcprep.exe If that doesn't remedy the problem, it could be a faulty wireless adapter!

Internet connection at my e830

To configure the Wireless connection you can use the Wifi connection wizard or setup the connection manually. I hope that you have checked your workgroup too. Also you should check if your IP settings are the same at the router and PDA (dynamic and static IP)! If you have some another device connected to the router remember them when you setup the PDA connection! In the end the MAC address of the PDA WLAN card must be saved in the router!
