1 yr old Jenn Air smooth top electric stove/oven. LED display of clock, timer, temp etc goes dark after about 15 seconds. Hit any button and light reappears and is accurate (still keeps time and timer still works). I have gone through the settings to make sure it is set for on. JennAir didn't offer any help and told me I had to call a repair person. Any ideas?

For some reason I get the same error code every time we have a power outage. If you push and hold the "lower off" button for about ten or 15 seconds it will unlock and reset. Hope this helps.

Hey-- You've spent a bunch of time on this already, so let's figure it out. The first step is to check power connections. L1, L2 , Neutral for proper location and tight connections. Should have 120v and 220v checked at bus block. If these check out, then this new unit should be under warranty and qualify for service. Not unheard of bad board or loose wire on a new unit. Let a tech sort it out on site. Let me know if this info helps- have more if needed- Thanks- Ed
