How to unlock door

Do not take the lid off and reach inside the washing machine to try and release the door if the washing machine is still plugged in as you will be electrocuted.
The most common cause of a jammed door is likely to be a faulty door interlock. Sometimes you can release the door from the inside by manipulating the door interlock or forcing the door catch out from it. But they sometimes just have to be broken away from the machine. If you need to do this make sure you -
  1. Completely disconnect the washing machine from the mains
Break the interlock off from inside the machine, don't force the door or you will just break more parts

How do i unlock the door as it will not open

As you know, the door is locked while the machine is working.
The most likely cause of your problem is that the 'interlock' has malfunctioned and needs to be replaced.
The problem is to get the door open.
Try to remember which way the latch hooks into the interlock.
It may be that a flexible kitchen knife slid behind the door can release the doorlock, or a length of thin strong string passed around the door and pulled towards the hinge side will release the latch.
N.B. Be careful not to damage the seal....!
If these actions don't work it would be best to call a technician to release the interlock from the inside of the machine and replace the interlock, which can be a slightly complicated job..
Good luck.

Whirlpool Model LHW0050PQ4 will not go through cycles. clotes are stuck in the washer and I can't get the door open to get the clothing out until the cycles seemingly need to be completed. Can I override...

The 'interlock' door switch is designed to stop people from opening the door and flooding the room. If you have to wait till the cycle has finished it's because power is still being supplied to the interlock. Turning the machine to 'off' and waiting approx. 3 minutes should allow the interlock time to release the 'lock'. If the door cannot be opened after that amount of time and there is no power going to the interlock, it would appear that the interlock is faulty and needs to be replaced...Not a huge job for a tech.. Good luck....Nomess (Please take a moment to rate this response)

Hi I have a Hotpoint Ultima WT741 1400 Spin washing machine and I am unable to release the door and belive it is broken. I have rewashed the clothes to check that the door lock was not still on and...

There may be an emergency door release tab inside the pump filter access door.....You probably have a faulty interlock which locks the door during operation and is not releasing...Not a big job for a tech.....Nomess

My beko washing machine will not spin. the door does not stick shut which when turned on its ment too. not sure whether it has something to do with door or atual system

hello there it sounds like a door interlock problem
where the catch goes into the body of washing machine is the door interlock held by 2 screws turn electric of and plug out of socket and take lid of washer at the front of machine between drum and casing where catch goes in you will see interlock release cable socket and undo screws keep one hand on interlock so it does not drop down and take this with serial and model number to your washing machine spare outlet or currys parts master online

Door problem Indesit WD 12 X

two ways
cut or break the handle off and you will expose the start of the door peg. this can be levered with a small screwdriver and the door will open.
take top off
feel down the front of the machine inside and you will feel the door interlock. sticking thro the interlock, you will feel the end of the door peg which with difficulty, can be levered with thumb nail so door opens
disconnect from mains first

Washer stopped midcyle-error code do, then FL

The door interlock could be faulty. The only way to open the door if the door interlock is faulty is to remove the top of the machine, after turning it off at the wall and pulling the plug out of the socket, and locate the door interlock from the inside. There should be a metal "slide" which can moved back to release the door catch. The interlock could be warped from getting hot, which will make the slide almost impossible to move. Remove screws holding the interlock from the front panel and from the inside pry the interlock from the catch. Replace interlock.
