Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has not work properly. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance.

First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing.

While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

Bissell Power Steamer Pro Deluxe will not move forward

tip unit back to lift brushes off floor and roll forward until over carpet edge. tip back unit to sit flush on carpet and unlock handle so it swings freely. now pull backwards ith finger on spray trigger. that's how it works, not by pushing forwad.

My Bissell Proheat 12 amps' brush keeps dragging on the carpet when I go to push it forwards. And it releases alot of water.

Mine is doing the exact same thing..Push it forward and it makes a awful noise. The Brush on the bottem is loose and it isnt spinning. SO i took and turned it over and there is a metal gear like part that runs the belt on the brush. I took it out and cleaned it...basically because it was just hanging in there..not Turning the belt..AND NOW I cant get it back in..I am totally disgusted as it hasnt been used very much at all. I cant get the gear metal piece back in to see if it works.IT Just falls out. and its a bear to get it in there..

My Bissell Proheat 12 amp is hard to push forward(whether on or off). There is a loud clicking noise when pushing forward and it ''jumps'' up on every loud click. It's OK when pulling backwards, sprays and...

I had this same problem and here is what solved it for me. On a previous cleaning session, my wife decided to take the two front screws out of the clear plastic shroud that covers the brushes in order to clean behind it. Upon re-installation, she did not secure the top part correctly. On the end near the water tank, there are two tiny half-moon tabs that absolutely need to be seated in their opposing slots in the chassis. This allows for a good seal which enables the machine to **** up the water. It also keeps the front cover level and from dragging on the carpet when pushing it forward. Both were problems I was experiencing. Hope this helps!

Bissell 1699 ProHeat Clear View uses very little soap.

The valve at the bottom of the soap tank may have gone bad, Also try running a mix of water and vinegar(not on carpet) to see if it will clean the system out. The system may just need cleaning out.
