FWIW, it is important to keep your machine clean and oiled for it to operate properly. Use ONLY good quality sewing machine oil and apply ONLY 1-2 drops every place indicated, approximately every 40 hours of sewing time.

Where are the oil ports on an old Kenmore 10 sewing machine #12511..thanks

If your older Kenmore is mechanical (not computerized), it probably can use a bit of oiling beyond what the manual recommends. Older machines frequently were pre-oiled at the factory, however, after many years, the oil tends to dry out and cause the mechanical parts to stick (the reason most older machines are frozen). Perhaps this link will be of help:

It was working now it seems to be frozen the needle part wont move

Need a manual for a portable sears kenmore model 158.13200

Unfortunately, the manual for the 158.13200 isn't available as a free PDF, as far as I know. You can buy a PDF or a printed copy from sewingpartsonline.com for $15 (plus shipping). See http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/instruction-manual-kenmore-158-1320.aspx for the manual. (The 158.1320, 158.13200, and 158.13201 share a manual.)

I hope this helps.

It's model no#158.10401.It just needs some care but would like a manual

If you scroll down the page, you will find a manual at this web site:
http://www.kenmoresewingmanuals.com/kenmore_158_manuals/kenmore_158_manuals.htm

Or, you might want to contact this company. They say that they have a lot of sewing machine manuals available:

Here is some information about your Kenmore sewing machine model. It's probably a very nice basic machine and if properly maintained will last many more years.

I have a Kenmore sewing machine, model # 385 15358600. The needle quit moving when I press the pedal. But, it will move if I turn it manually. How can I fix this?

that might indicate a new foot pedal is needed . these newer electronic ones fail where as the old carbon resistor type kept on working for decades

My machine is loud when sewing, not quiet anymore. It is an old Kenmore 14 model. I am able to sew,but the machine seems so be loud. I don't know if it needs oil or not. It so, how do I oil it myself?

Go sears parts direct and order a manual. It will tell you where to oil it. I am not familiar with a model 14. I think that you have to look at the nonclementure plate and get the whole number.

I need to know how to clean and oil the machine

From the Sears Kenmore manual:
Using a small brush, remove the lint that accumulates in the shuttle area and around the feed dogs.
To Clean the Shuttle Area:
  1. This area must be kept free of dust, lint and occasional tangled thread. Raise the needle bar to its highest point and remove the bobbin case.
  2. Push levers of shuttle race aside and lift shuttle race cover and shuttle out.
  3. Clean the shuttle race with a small brush.
  4. Put a drop of oil on the center pin of the shuttle and shuttle race.

Sears is great for keeping old manuals. Go online to Sears parts and you should be able to enter the model number and bring up the parts available.

Kenmore 385-16627 slowing down--where do I oil?

Sears carries manuals for most Kenmore machines.

If your machine is computerized, oiling could be damaging if done improperly. It may be worthwhile taking it for service.
