I have a duraflame electric heater that starts to smoke and nake poping noises when i plug it in is it malfunctioning or is it repairable

wow, unplug and look for a new one. The cracking and popping is usually signs of something cooking the wrong way inside. You might lok to see if something is inside that ought not be inside. A good inspection while it\'s unplugged is also good in checking what is actually broke. 9/10 times it\'s wiser and more cost efficient to just buy a new one. cut the cord off the old cord and properly dispose of it.

Unless you want a new house, stop using that heater immediately. There are severe internal electric problems with your heater. Since it's already 3 years old, I'm not sure it's worth trying to repair. With what you described, I'm surprised it didn't trip one of you circuit breakers.

Be safe, Don't continue to try to use this heater.

My crown 1500w oil filled heater will not work I have changed fuse in plug no different can you advise please?

Hi,

My experience with those oil filled heaters is that they don't make the thermostat and the internal wiring heavy enough... therefore the thermostat and/or the woring burns up in them...after enough time and heat they no longer work...they are repairable, but you cannot get the appropriate parts to fix them in most cases...

I need the lighted switch on front of Patton milkhouse space heater model puh680-u but can't track down web sight to order.

MILKHOUSE HEATER "CAUTION LIGHT" SOLUTION: Before I explain, let me clear this myth up: this is NOT an issue with the pendulum safety switch (some mistake that for a "mercury" switch). To begin, unplug the heater. Open it up and clean it out. I mean, buy a can of non-chlorinated brake cleaner and squirt all of the contacts good. Below the fan there is a sensor mounted on the heater element box on the bottom. That goes bad and causes it to trip. While you are there, squirt the motor bushings good with the brake cleaner and dab a drop of synthetic motor oil (just a drop) on EACH of the two motor bushings. Personally, I rewired this and bypassed all of the safety features. You can bypass that sensor without soldering or cutting any wires. All you have to do is unscrew the wires from the holder and then unscrew the tiny nuts and tiny bolts. Then bolt the together at one end (note the position) and put it back in the holder and tighten the screw to hold it in. This method fixes the issue completely as it removes the sensor from the equation. In fact, I just did that on my third milkhouse heater and it has been running solid for the last 15 minutes. Use your modified heater with caution! Let the brake cleaner dry before you energize this device!

I need a thermastat

If it's for the milkhouse style heater you show in this picture then go by a new heater, they are very cheap and the thermostat would certainly cost more then it's worth. I bought a heater like the one in the picture for around $13.00 at ACO Hardware wirth low, med, high wattage settings and with thermostat of course. A thermostat would likely cost at least $10.00 plus shipping so what would you do?
