SOURCE: I have a Fridgidaire Dryer
Hello & Welcome to FixYa
If you have already tried cleaning the vent then the problem is with the Thermal fuse. When the thermal fuse goes bad it cannot be reset and replacing it is recommended repair. It is located on the blower wheel housing inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct. You can test it for continuity before replacing, if it has continuity then it means that the problem is with the control board that is bad and needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Hello everclavel - Try reprogramming the dryer by flipping the household circuit breaker off or unplugging it. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If it proves to be ineffective, the dryer could possibly be experiencing a communication error with the main control board, wiring failure, or faulty door lock assembly. Connect with a certified technician to move forward accurately to assist with the repairs.

Hello Anne Truhlar - Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately 30 seconds and turn on the fuse for the dryer. Turn on the dryer and select a normal cycle. If the dryer continues to overheat then I suggest contacting a professional to accurately diagnose and repair the dryer. The unit could possibly have a defective control board, power supply (240V), heating element, sensor or high limit thermostat.
