Try unplugging the fuse or power cable from the alarm system. Basically, just cut the power to it in any way possible. Leave it like that for about 15 minutes while you go get something to drink/something to munch on, and then go back, hook the power back up, and try it again. Sometimes resetting them like that will fix issues such as this one.
