Question about Insignia I-PD720 Portable DVD Player

2 Answers

During a road trip, our kids had watched 4 straight DVD movies ranging from 1 hour - 1 1/2 hours in length. Our DVD was hooked up to the car to save the battery life. Out of the blue, our player started to smoke and will no longer work. We have only had it for a year and use it about 5 times a year with the only extended use coming once a year. W ehave an Insignia model NS-PDVD8A purchased from Best Buy

Did you use the correct adapter for use in the car? It sounds to me like it may have been getting too much voltage/current.

If you had it over a year, I doubt the warranty will cover it unfortunately.

Best Regards,

James

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Whenever i watch a movie on my lenovo y430 laptop the screen keeps going blank, how do i prevent this from happening?

Is it a movie straight from DVD, or from a file? If from a file, your codec may be outdated... try "K-Lite Codec Pak" (is free, google it), seems to help with almost every file type out there!

Hope this helps!

I have wasted 4 hours with 1 of your so called (experts) i want answers not excuses

Don't know if I can help or not, but this what I do.
I've downloaded the DIVx player and converter software (free) to my computer. I can download mpeg, avi movies, etc, and convert them to DIVx format if I need to. The DIVx player has a 'burn' feature that is fast and burns them in a DIVx format. My old DVD Recorder will not play DIVx format but my 'cheap' Phillips will. I just keep it hooked up to my old DVD recorder through the front RCA input jacks. When I want to play a DIVx movie and watch it on the TV, I use the cheap Phillips player. I have to change the input on my old DVD Recorder to 'Front Input. I usually record the movie on a DVD R in my DVD Recorder while I'm watching it if I want to keep a copy to play later on the DVD Recorder. Most of the time, I burn the movies to RW DVD and erase them later.

I don't remember the web site for the DIVx players and converters, but you should be able to find it with a search.

Hope this helps.
