SOURCE: Vizio won't turn off

This could be a mainboard problem. Sometimes one of the fuses may be bad and may freeze up causing the TV to not be able to power off.

SOURCE: Vizio 42 Plasma Pop

My 42 Inch Vizio experienced the pop of death out-of warranty. I bought mine at Sears and they sent a technician over within a day or so. It turned out to be in the power supply and they shipped a board right out. Total including parts and labor was $280. Although no expensive TV should die after less than 2-years, Sears seems to be able to deal with repair in the home without drama.

SOURCE: UVERSE REMOTE CAN NOT TURN OFF VIZIO 42' TV

The documentation that came with my U-Verse equipment doesn't list Vizio products, but I have been using 1343 which I saw suggested on another website. AT&T's support site has a new code list (http://www.att.com/support_media/images/pdf/uverse/set-up-code-list.pdf) showing Vizio under the TV section as 1489 and in the HDTV section as 1429, 1433, or 1439.

None of the codes listed for Vizio work with my Vizio LCD(model VO370M), but the 1343 code I've been using successfully is listed in the new list as an LG HDTV code.

It sounds that the main digital board to your TV has the fault. To check and locate the fault to this board is a very skilled work. Contact any service technician.

When I hooked up the new cable box HD/DVR i got a hum which is heard. When i had the other plain DVR hooked up there wasn't a hum, which was hooked up with RCA cable. This is on a Vizio E420VO 42"...

It might be abe to be fixed. It sounds like a ground side problem, so you should take it apart and see if the rca jack is well soldered and not cracked on the wire or circuit board, depending on their system.
Otherwise, the unit could be having another issue and with noise in the power supply, and will have to be replaced.
Have the cable box replaced, would be the easiest solution. I think the TV is fine, but if it ends up needing service, you can often find mobile tv repairment that will come service it at your home, saving you the hassle of taking it somewhere.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Vizio TV issue

this is an indication that the power supply is working. The clicking noise shows that the power supply is booting up. If you still does not have power, it may be the main board that is not working.

My tv is making a poping noise. I unpluged the set from the radio but the sound is coming from the speakers on the unit. What is it, and how can it be fixed. Thank you Bryce,

Turn down bass in audio menu or if tv has subwoofer turn down sub level or like i stated earlier turn down bass other than that popping noise is a common complaint with vizio, if under warranty call service provider

"No signal" on our new Vizio screen

Try manually using the source button on the TV.  Touch the button once and a screen will com up on the TV.  Touch the source button again it will scroll down the pop-up on the screen.  Wait a few seconds each time you scroll down the pop-up.  You should get a signal when it gets to the right setting.
