It sounds like a convergence problem. A fairly common reason for thisproblem is the convergence chips have failed. They are usually referredto as "STK" chips since the model number of these chips start with STK.I will put a link to another part of this site where someone has postedpictures and a link where to get the parts should you decide to fix ityourself. Look at Ecullier2012's posting. Jean's posted site will notfix this problem. Hope this helps you out. Let me know.

Thanks for using FixYa. The issue is with the convergence ICs going bad and needs to be replaced. It’s not a difficult job if you want to do this yourself, you should require some basic knowledge about soldering-resoldering components. To start with you’ll have to open the back of the unit and then replace the ICs(STK ICs) which are located behind the black heat sink and also check the resistors as if they are short the ICs might blow again after sometime. There are repair kits available which includes repair instructions with the parts, if you want to do it yourself you can buy and repair it yourself.
