Re: About Harddisk

Hi, If the HDD still spins up then you may be able to plug it in to another computer as a secondary and then either be able to view and copy the data straight from there ir if it unaccessible in normal ways there is software that will be able to view and copy off most of your data.

If the HDD is stuck or jammed and does not spin then unfortunately there is not much chance of getting anything.

Let me know how you go

I could not samsung scx 3400 printer to my pc having 256 MB RAM

I suggest you install more RAM and do a hard disk maintenance before you install the printer driver.
Hard disk maintenance should be carried once a month to make your computer run efficiently. This removes redundant and temporary files, recovers disk space and speed up hard disk access. Disk Cleanup should be done first - Click My Computer - then right click on the C drive then click Properties, then click Disk Cleanup - let it examine the C drive then it will calculate the amount of disk space it will recover, tick all the boxes to recover the maximum disk space and then Click OK and then Yes to perform these actions. If you have a D drive then repeat these steps on this drive too. Next the C drive needs to be Defrag. This process converts fragmented files into continuous files and this speeds up disk access and makes the hard disk not work as hard. Click on Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Defragmenter - click to highlight the C drive and click Analyse - then click Defragment. When this is completed repeat these steps for the D Drive if you have a D drive. Disk Cleanup and Defrag can take a long time to complete, especially if these tasks have not been for a long time.

Chances are a machine that old has a bad HDD. Get a new HDD first (stay with the same brand) then load system software with the canon system support tool from a computer.

I had format my Fs-4 Pro HD, and I need that

My apologies if this message finds you long after posting this problem , but I am currently working through a backlog of problems that never got answered and hopefully this info can still be of use if not now possibly in future.

Please download Disc Digger HERE. This is a free tool you can use that works very well and there is no installation required, just run the program once you downloaded it.

Once you have connected the memory disk / hdd to the computer , run the program.

On the program , select the dig deep option for accidentally deleted files or dig deeper for a formatted drive. Then select the disk you want to do the recovery on and run the program.

The data will be displayed and you can recover it from there. This will only work if the card has not been used since the data was lost. Save the files to a location on the computer hard drive and not back to the disk it is recovering from as this will overwrite the other pictures that still needs to be recovered.

Some of the properties of the files may become lost in the recovery but the pictures should be fine.

You will also only be able to recover certain file types using this method.

Feel free to ask if you need more assistance.

Kind Regards

My 1TB Hard drive media player has stopped working with my laptop, it's status in not intialized and when I select initialize it comes up with a message saying driver is not ready! Some really important...

In this case you will need to use the data recovery programs such as Stellar to get the data recovered. After recovering the data, format the Hard Disk and check for any errors on it. You may also try changing the USB cable first to check if the drive gets initialized?

My Dell Computer says it has to shut down, then reboots and comes up with "hard disk failure", I push F1 and it loads back up ok.

First open cpu cabinet and reconnect all connection to harddisk .
Also refix RAM memory.
Then when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios then check your harddisk is detected proeprly.
aslo go to boot option and set first boot device as your harddisk.
Some times because of bed SATA or IDE cable is detected in bios but it not boot up.
So change sata or IDE cable .

Let me know if you need more assistanse.

Hi I have a MacBook Intel 2007. The other night the harddisk when carzy and the computer stopped. When I tried to reboot the screen displayed a folder with a ? symbol in the center. The Mac did not seem...

I would have put a system disk into the macbook and pressed the C key on the keyboard. This should boot the mac. Once in the instal area go up the menu bar and select disk utility and run the hard disk verify to check if the hard drive is functioning. If the mac does not boot up it is not the hard drive and then the only option you have is to take it to an apple mac authorised centre.
