SOURCE: fring pan not heating up

When an electric fryer or not heating up, usually there is a fault.

Disconnect the fryer from power to ten minutes to reset it, if the problem is still there when re-connecting, then there is a fault.

In that case the faulty part is either the thermostat or the heating element.

Both thermostat and heating element can be tested using a multimeter to check if the part has continuity (circuit is closed).
If the part is faulty call the manufacturer at the number listed on the owners manual, either to get repair or replacement parts.

Since you had a power outage, you possibly have a circuit board issue. Try unplugging the heater for a couple of minutes then plugging it back in. If that doesn't help then a new circuit board may be needed. There are 2 different circuit boards. One main circuit board and one for the display. I hate to inform you of this but this are both very expensive. The main board will cost somewhere around $400. I'm not sure of the cost of the display board. If you have someone replace them, have them do to one and see if it fixes it. If it doesn't, put the old one back and replace the other, that way you can narrow it down to 1 or the other. There is a place in Ashville, NC that will repair monitor circuit boards. Go to this link and it will give you prices for the repairs. They guarantee their work for 3 years. If you contact them mention you heard about them from Niten's Heater Service. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

My child lock is on on my phillips 755vr dvd player how do i turn it off without the remote

Basically, the child lock feature is a security feature to keep the children away from unauthorized video content.
Your best bet is to get an original replacement remote.

You may try this general step to unlock without the Remote. However, it may not work for all the models.
Please hold down the Power button on the Player until "CHILD LOCK" or the "Key symbol" disappears from the front panel display. The Player will be unlocked.

If you had set a code number - the override code should be able to resolve the issue. Please follow the below steps to enter the override code.
1. Press SYSTEM MENU to display the Setup menu.
2. Use the Number buttons to enter the 6-digit number
"210499". The previous password will be cleared.

Hope this helps you in resolving the issue.

Thank You,
Ravi Yelde

What should I do in order to make sure my dog house stays cool in the summer?

In order to keep your dog's house cool during hot summer days, consider to do the following:
  • Place the dog house in the shade so it doesn't get too hot from the sun.
  • Make sure that the house is ventilated so warm air can come out.
  • If it gets really hot inside the house, you should put a fan to cool the house down or buy a small air conditioning unit made for dog houses.
  • Place a cooling mat on the ground of the house. This will help the dog to cool down during the hot summer days.

I have an Intermatic WH-40 timer set up on swimming pool pump. I am not using any start/stop mechanical pieces on the dial face. Yet my pump does shut off everyday for short time period. Why is this...

Sounds like pump issue or loose wire and not the timer.
Check wiring at pump. Read pump manual. The pump may have overheat cycle that trips off and then comes back on to protect pump without requiring owner to press reset button each time.

If timer turns OFF, then the manual override lever moves to the off position, and when timer turns ON again, the override lever moves to the on position. If override lever is moving without a tripper, then I would like to know more about that. Add a comment with photo posted on Flickr.

Same with the circuit breaker. The circuit breaker switch does not trip and reset once a day.

A loose wire could cause occasional connect-reconnect.
Check terminals inside timer for signs of high heat and burning. Check that insulated part of wire is not under the screw-down-plate.

Check circuit breaker for signs of burning and smell of electrical burning and sound of shorting on the busbar.

Upvote the help.
And take advantage of fixya expert assistance live.
For a price, expert works with you while you work on timer or any do-it-yourself project.

Kenmore dryer turn on no heat and timer will not shut off unless moved to the off position

I would suspect the timer itself. These have small button contacts and if they stick
they can pull themselves right off the flat spring. These timer buttons operate off
a cam drum and several of them operate the timer motor itself at various intervals.
The model and serial number is inside the door. and usually there are two
philips head screws to remove at the base of the front control panel. It should hinge back. If not, then the access panel will be on the backside of the control panel.
The timer will be
a plug in type so no issues with miswiring. The knob will either pull off or unscrew
(counterclockwise generally)
and beneath it will be two screws which hold the timer in place.
You can call a local appliance store or order the part online using the model and
serial number. Remember to shut off the breaker and unplug unit before servicing.
Hope this is useful.

Roper Dryer not Drying

Get a thermostat and place it in the exhaust. The thermostat should reach 160 and then shut down and drop to 120 F and start back heating to 160 again on cotton setting. You should hear an audible click when the thermostat opens and closes. If the dryer is clear of lint and blockages then change the control thermostat which is mounted on the blower housing.
