Question about LG Televison & Video
Hi all, Im having trouble finding a way to fix the issue i have with this vcr/dvd player. its not damaging the VHS at all and ejects it to a point just leaving a tiny bit outside the machine. though as soon as that happens it takes the tape back into the machine and it reacts as if it knowns theres a tape there when there shouldnt be so it continues to try to eject it until it kills the power to the machine. the only way to stop this from happenning is quickly pull the tape out when it first pops out but the cover plate may not close properly after that leaving it either completely open or just abit ajar.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

My 1st suggestion is to pull the AC power plug from the wall, wait 5 minutes (have a smoke or a coffee) and plug it back in.
Then retry the functions that are giving you grief.
Report back with the results and we'll go from there.

If you have cleaned the head with a good head cleaner and you are still having a problem...the belt is probably worn. A good head clean should fix the problem.

While the tape may appear to be loading properly, it is not. These units have a known problem with the grease at the loading arm getting sticky. This means that the tape is not loaded properly and will not move through the VCR properly. This is detected as the hubs not moving and the unit will eject the tape to prevent damage. This is a simple repair for anyone that has done these before, but requires an alignment check. This check requires a special alignment tape and equipment.
This should be a labor only repair.
