In order to reset passwords normally on any computer you will have to either remove the battery or reset the CMOS jumper. Also I recommend that you get the default passwords for you brand and try those first they sometimes work when accessing passwords.
The supervisor (SVP) password is stored in a chip called ATMEL 24RF08.It can not be reset by disconnecting the BIOS battery or shorting any jumper. It has to be read in order to decipherer the password. For this we need some kind of hardware so read on...by clicking this link. Click Me If that is the case and I did research this to see if the above method would work and that is what I found out. So it may move you to look at that web site page above to make sure that you have the right information. I advise that you take this to someone that knows what they are doing also there is probably a simpler way to do this possibly. Every BIOS is different yours may seem to be the case for more research than I'm familiarizer with.
Always try to pick passwords that are easy to remember and use few of them I have two usernames and passwords I use regularly as well as I will never forget them. If you are using passwords and usernames a lot for banking and private information it is good to change those often but remember what they are write them down and put them somewhere where you can find them. There is also password retrieval software available for use as well some free and others paid.
If you can access the battery you can find that underneath the laptop you may have to remove the case covers if it is pop out kind just remove it then place it back in the carrier. This should reset the BIOS to default settings. Thanks for the great question? I even learned something here! John
