Question about Insignia Televison & Video
The picture on the screen is too large and cuts off information from the top and the bottom. Also, unfortunately we cannot find the manual and remote that came with the tv. We would like to decrease the size of the picture on the screen. Help!

SOURCE: Picture too large
Normallly, if the picture size button on the remote for the television does not achieve the desired affect, then, a cable box or a satelite box is where the change needs to be made.
Some Motorola Cable receivers need to be set up in the menu to go to a wide screen or zoom mode when an analog signal is detected. There may be a format button on the remote.
Some Dish Network boxes have Size buttons on their remotes and also in their main menu.
It's difficult to determine the repair without knowing the types of the peripherals.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: ilo lcd tv..picture too large??
I had the same problem and tried everything with the tv to get it back to normal. I would look for what was suggested by tvtek, but also look on your cable remote or box for an "aspect" button. That fixed my problem. If your problem occurs with DVDs as well then you may have another issue, but if it is with cable only, try this. When I called our cable company the tech said alot of people this button without even knowing it.

Look on your remote to see if you have a picture butto or you can try and go to the menu settings and see if you can adjust the tv format from widescreen to regular or 4:3 or 16:9
