Aluminum alloy die casting is the casting process that injecting the high temperature molten aluminum alloy liquid into die cavity with high pressure and high speed for moulding. Features of this casting method are product precise forming and high production efficiency. However, the conventional die casting process is defective. Because the gas in the mold cavity cannot be eliminated effectively, the gas in the mold cavity cannot be eliminated effectively, and the inner parts of the casting can be left to form the defects of the pores, to make the mechanical property of the casting poor. In order to solve this problem, people use the method of vaccum pumping, that is, the gas in the cavity of the die casting can form a certain vacuum or negative pressure state, thereby reducing the inner hole defect of the casting.

What is prime aluminium ?

Prime aluminum seems to be unalloyed aluminum. It is 99.9% aluminum. The purest aluminum aluminum available in T-bars is also knon as 1100 aluminuml and is at least 99% pure. Prime aluminum is too soft for most uses. involving physical stress. The strength and durability qualities of aluminum are related to the minerals added to form the alloy. There are many variations of such alloys and they differ in properties. There is a bit more about prime aluminum on the following site. https://www.bonnellaluminum.com/tech-info-resources/aluminum-casting-process/

Where the frost plug on the 2000 honda Accor lx

Frost plugs are misnamed. The official name and purpose is core plugs. It is impossible to sandcast a complex casting like a cylinder block without an inner and an outer mould. The inner mould (or core) is supported by bars which leaves holes in the finished casting; holes that can be covered by a plate, a screwed plug or knock in deformable plugs or the more common steel dishes - core plugs!
Die cast blocks do not need core plugs as there is no core that needs support during the casting process.

I expect the Honda is little different from most engines in that there will be a core support (a hole) at each end of the cylinder block and two or more down one side of the block. Complex castings tend to need additional core support and a number of thinner sand bars may be used resulting in fairly randomly placed small plugs.

Cylinder heads are also sand casted from an outer mould and an inner core...

China's Lightest Aluminum Alloy Subway Train Is in Operation

According to The Xinhua News Agency, Changchun metro line 1 was officially in trial operation on June 30, and the subway train named "Little Snow Leopard" began to carry passengers. This new red and white subway train can not only "endure" low temperature of minus 35 degrees Celsius, but also is the lightest aluminum alloy die casting subway train in China now.Design manager of CRRC Corporation Limited whose name is Huixue Xu said that "Little Snow Leopard" adopts various cold resistance and antifreezing technologies, doors and window glasses filled with argon and outer window glasses coated with insulation films; cavities of aluminum profiles subway train body have heat insulators; there are Insulation materials between the subway train body's structure and passenger rooms; coupled with electric heating devices under the seats, it is warm in the subway train in winter, just like in spring."Little Snow Leopard" is not only cold resistant, but also has a very light subway train body, which can effectively reduce its traction energy consumption. The energy consumption of air conditioning system can also be greatly reduced because of adopting high-performance heat insulation design, frequency conversion and heat pump technologies. The energy of the subway train can also be sent back to the power grid to be reused and reduce energy loss. "Little Snow Leopard" is fully made of environmentally friendly and recycled materials, and most of the internal metal parts of the subway train can be recycled. When it comes to the safety of the subway train, "Little Snow Leopard" can reach the highest standard of the current domestic subway trains. It is equipped with coupler buffer, anticreeper devices, etc., utilizes upgraded system technologies and had gone through system and rainfall tests before delivery. Huixue Xu said that "Little Snow Leopard" can ensure passengers' safety when a crash happens in the relative speed of 25 kilometers per hour.

Although alloy wheels are softer than steel, chrome and aluminum wheels, there are no reports to confirm they should not or cannot be used. wheels are dented due to impacts such as hitting a curb or getting in an accident.

Is it a problem if I add "green" coolant to my 2004 5.3liter V8? This coolant is recommended for 2000 or older models.

Yes, These engines are a combination of aluminum castings and cast iron castings. The orange dexcool is designed to control the acidity of the coolant. If you put in green it is going to eat away at the aluminum. It could cause leaks in your head gaskets, intake gaskets, water pumps and promote clogging of important coolant areas in the block.
