Question about Ice Cream Makers

I purchased the volu-firm day and night sunscreen spectrum spf 30.The day one would not work, I primed it, worked and worked with it, so I tried cutting into the top as it was no use to me as is.

My question is can I send the Day Volu firm day cream back to you or have it replaced? Thanks.

Poor Overrun on Taylor 162-12


You cannot change the overrun on a Taylor 162. Once you've properly primed the machine and installed the feed tubes, the viscosity or how firm the product is.

I do not know of any soft serve machine that will give you an 80% overrun. You can adjust the overrun on a Taylor pressurized machine like the 8756 or the C712, but I believe the limit is somewhere around 40%.

Problem with my chocolate side. Will not remain as firm ice cream. Becomes liquid ice milk. I turn chocolate side off. After I turn back on it may still be liquid but not firm ice cream.what can I do?

Which flavored ice cream is best to serve guest in day time?


Vanilla is a very common and still in used, every age people love this flavor. It can be served simply during daytime or with topping on night time. It is also not too heavy for eating and good for desert.

    Place the mixer bowl in the freezer. The amount of time required depends on the temperature of your freezer, but you should expect to leave it in the freezer for about one day prior to use. To check if the bowl is frozen, shake it gently. If you don't hear any liquid sloshing around inside, it's ready to use.

    Place the mixer bowl onto the motor base when you're ready to make ice cream. Insert the mixing paddle into the bowl and place the cover over the bowl.

    Turn on the ice cream maker and pour the ice cream mixture into the hole at the center of the appliance until it reaches the fill line. Do not exceed the fill line, as the ice cream will increase in volume as it freezes. Use the low setting if you want a firm ice cream and the High setting if you want a softer consistency. Do not add nuts, candy or chocolate chips at this stage as they can become hung up in the mixing paddle and stop the machine.

    Cover the center hole with the cap and allow the ice cream maker to run for 30 to 45 minutes.

    Add mix-in ingredients such as nuts and candies two minutes before shutting down the machine.

    Turn off and unplug the machine prior to removing the ice cream from the bowl. GE recommends using plastic or rubber utensils to avoid scratching the inside of the mixer bowl.

    It sounds like the main gear is cracked were the paddle shaft goes though it.the d shaped shaft is spinning when the ice cream gets firm. i repaired mine by making a sleeve out of copper pipe and slid it over the cracked part. works great.

    I bought one new, and it had a great recipe for Kiwi fruit ice cream, using kiwi fruit and oranges. I can't find the recipe book. You make just over 1 l of fluid ice cream mixture, the bowl must be pre=frozen for at least 15 hours, just put the liquid in the machine and crank the handle in quarter turns (the square outer box helps measure this!) every 5 min for the first 30 min, and then half turns every half hour or so.
