Sticky Keys is a software function. I am assuming you are using Windows - open the Control Panel, select the Ease of Use Center, select Make the keyboard easier to use. In here, you can turn on and setup Sticky Keys.

I seem to have locked my keyboard and can only use the one on screen, since this computer is touch screen

By the sounds of it, you have enabled your computers Sticky Keys. To disable the Sticky Keys, go to Control Panel -> Accessibility Option and disable everything.

Note: Sticky Keys are enabled by pressing the shift key five consecutive times.

Shift key is not working

You might consider using, at least tempory, a external usb keyboard with a touchpad, you can get get them at Wal-Mart for around $20.00
Otherwise consider taking it to a computer shop and have them test the keyboard and if need be order you a new one. If this computer is still under warranty then I would would talk to the support team that you purchase it from. Good Luck.

Keyboard keys wont type. used on screen keyboard to type this. any suggestions?

You might have "sticky keys" so try this:
When sticky keys are enabled, users can access functions that require pressing multiple modifier keys such as "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Shift" at once by pressing one button at a time. If sticky keys are enabled, it is possible to accidentally turn them on at an unwanted time. After turning off the sticky keys, disable the feature to prevent them from accidentally turning on again.

    • Press the "Shift" button five times in a row to turn off sticky keys.

    • Open the "Start" menu and then click "Control Panel."

    • Click "Ease of Access Center" from within the Control Panel window.

    • Click "Make The Keyboard Easier To Use" from within the Ease of Access Center window.

    • Remove the check-mark beside "Turn On Sticky Keys" to prevent sticky keys from being accidentally turned on.

    • Click "Apply" to save your changes and then click "OK" to close the window.
Hope this helps. Good Luck!

My keyboard or key pad will not work

Sounds like you have sticky keys enabled

Press and hold down the keys for about 5-10 seconds until you see a character or some response on your screen.

When you get into Windows follow these steps:

Step 1. Click Start - Control Panel

Step 2. make sure you are in Classic View, Go to Accessibility Options

Step 3. Click on the Keyboard tab and uncheck Enable Sticky Keys

Step 4. Click Ok, then Ok and exit

My Microsoft Wired 600 keyboard has suddenly malfunctioned and the keys "1" "Q" "A" and "Z" (as far as i know these are only ones) just wont work anymore, help?

Well, it's in a bad shape, but if you still wanna fix it, try remove all the nuts, then see for the rubber connector inside it, clean it with soft cloth and alcohol, then on the electronics board, clean it with it too.

Also recheck the PS2 connector ( if using PS2 ), sometimes this cause the problems.

Can't type anything without weird things happening the \'p\' prints,

hi, check that Sticky-keys arent turned on.

to toggle Sticky-keys on and off, press the shift key 5 times fast, then either Disable the sticky-keys tickbox, or click Settings for more configuration settings.

when sticky-keys are enabled, you can press shift and release, and the shift key is still enabled. this also goes for Alt, and CTRL.

so if it is enabled, pressing P will attempt to be Ctrl-P - which is print.
