There could be a number of problems, you need to have your refridgerator topped up, or your elliment went, another solution, check to make sure that nothing is blocking the fan in your freezer

My fan is not rotating when I connected to plug. There is no burning smell or anything. How can I fix the problem? Thanks in advance

Hello.

I have a Holmes pedestal fan that does this every few years. I have had this fan for about 10 years.

Unplug the fan and remove the fan blade guard. The fan blade should spin easily when you tap the edge of the fan blades with your finger. If the blade barely moves and abruptly stops, the bearings are dirty and need to be cleaned and oiled with 10W non-detergent motor oil. A quick-fix is a tiny bit of WD-40 where the motor shaft (the rod that the fan blade is mounted on) meets the bearing (the part of the motor that the shaft spins on). To properly fix this, you must oil both the front and back motor bearings which requires removal of the motor housing.

If the fan blade spins easily and you are certain that the fan is getting power (try a different outlet) the motor may be bad. Likewise, if the fan blade will not move at all. I do not know if Holmes sells motors for these fans. Here is their online support website:

www.holmesproducts.com/Support.aspx

Good luck from Detroit, MI.

P.S.: Never turn a motor-operated appliance on for more than a second if you know it's not working. That will cook the motor windings.

The fan on the 1999 Plymouth voyager is making noise

Spin the blades with your fingers while listening for the noise--either bad motor bearings or a warped blade causing interference with the blade guard. (It might even be some debris in the fan space) If you are tight for money, visit a nearby wrecking yard to replace whatever you find wrong. It's easiest to remove the shroud assembly to replace a motor or fan. Hope this helps!

Fan very noisy

It is unusual for fans to become noisy buy with the power off you can check to see if it the fan has something trapped in it - in which case remove it. Also check to see if there is any blade damage. Check to make sure it is securely fastened and if not tighten the screws / bolts that secure it. Spin the blades with your finger to see if it makes any noise, wobbles or is difficult to move. If so then it may need replacing. Make sure the blades do not protrude out of the casing - if so push down on the centre of the blade to see if it will go back into position. The power to the fan may be unregulated so the fan may change speed and effectively pulse and therefore change pitch – check the supply voltage and ripple content. Other than that the fan may just need replacing.

Condenser fan is not running. coils are hot and the compressor sounds like its working. the evaporator fan is working. The refrigerator is not as cold as it should be

Spin the fan by hand and see if that helps. The condensor fan is causing head pressure to rise and the compressor is fighting it. This in turn will affect the cooling effiviency.Vacuum the cobwebs and dirt that has accumulated and vacumm the fan motor yhrough the vent holes on its end opposit the blades. Spin the fan blades with a pencil to protect your fingers. If the fan still won't turn, it may need to be replaced Good Luck_Ned_

1995 honda accord ex auxiliary cooling fan not engaging

The accy fan you are refurring to is actually the a/c consensor fan.The only time that fan operates is with the cycling of the a/c system.Verify by turning a/c on ,fan should come on & off with a/c cycles..

Strong noise notebook, CPU gets hot 75-80C

The fan may be faulty, it may have stopped or spinning slow.
Check the fan and clean dust/lint off the fan blades and heatsink fins. Spin the fan blades with your finger to see if it spins freely.
If necessary replace the fan.

This is very common with Samsung and is considered a overheating or lamp issue. cheapest fix before changing out the lamp is to unplug the unit after it has shut off its fans and open the back up and blow all the vents and circuit boards off with can of compressed air. Then remove the lamp to get to the larger fan that is behind the lamp, be carefull to not let the fans to spin when you hit it with the air because it will spin the fans faster than they are ment to spin, so gently place a finger on the blades just enough to keep the fan still and clean off any dust you see on the blades and area. Put everything together and give it a test run. If it stays on longer you know it was just to dusty to stay cool , if no change then try the lamp.

Hampton Bay 36" Fan Hums but won't turn

The motor has gotten tired now after being on 24/7. With the blades off, it would turn easily but the weight of the blades strain the motor. You could check that there is proper 110 volt current to the motor because anything less will cause that problem too. You can also help the fan start by spinning the blades while it is on. Short of these suggestions, it is time for a new fan.
