After first setting the cook time---then hit the power level button and hit the number 5 (for 50%) and then start. Power level can also be changed while running by hitting power level button and selecting 1 through 10. For example level 3 is 30% for defrosting.
I Believe this model has an options button with codes by numbers which are 1 thru 6 I believe. Either 1 or 2 are sound. So hit the options button and hit the number 1 it should say (sound), Then you will hit 1 again a.k.a. mute, and no more beep beep beep. If 1 is not sound then you may have accidently created a small but deadly emp, so hit stop and you must hit options and then hit 2.
Controller is confusedA
power surge or random non-reproducible action of the universe may have
resulted in the controller's program ending up in an infinite loop. Pull
the plug for a minute or two to reset it.
Defective Interlock switchesThis can result in the controller thinking the door is open and ignoring you.
CleaningCleaning
solutions (spray cleaner) may have gotten inside and shorted out the
touchpad or controller. If this happens remove the touchpad, let it air
dry for a few days, and then attach it back on the microwave.
Sounds like a bad touch panel. They run silver oxide traces through that panel and they couple a lot of them together. So if a trace common to those pads breaks you lose all the pads connected to that line So Probably need to get price and availability on a new touch panel.
On some models hitting popcorn will make the microwave come on for like 2-1/2 Min's.....then shut off....Maybe yours is like that...It's also on high power
