Question about Frigidaire Heating & Cooling
If red or black leed to thermistor is disconnected then the compressor and fan will start. It is not in OFF mode. I ran diagnostics and fan and compressor both work. The defrost heater may be bad - hard to test the thermostat as it is inline with the heater/connected hardwired. I did check the heater coil using a needle to by pass thermostat and it is about 15 ohms. So I believe it heater to be good. Thermostat would not close when cooled, it may be bad. Defrost time does clock through at 30 minutes. Not sure if the defrost heater not working will prevent fan and compressor from starting in automatic mode?

If it's cutting off at too high a temperature it is a good possibility the probe is faulty. However if the compressor is not cutting off at all, suspect short of gas.

Tips for a great answer:
Thank you for your post, Cynthia!
Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire freezer is not cooling properly and is now displaying the temperature of 56. It sounds like your freezer is not on, even though it has power the compressor is not turned on. I would suggest pressing either the down or up arrow three times within five seconds. That should power on your compressor and it should start cooling properly. I hope this is helpful and if you should need further assistance please feel free to reconnect. -Matt

Hey friend, thanks for your post!
From my understanding you have recently moved your Frigidaire freezer and it is now displaying the "OF". Normally, that stands for off you should be able to press the "Up" or "Down" arrow three times within five seconds to start your compressor. If you still need a copy of your manual could you provide me with your model number? You can locate your serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside wall of your freezer. I hope this has been helpful. -Matt
