SOURCE: Tape is stuck in VCR- Fast rewind and forward

It may need to be cleaned. Mechanical problems are one of the big problems with VCRs they use alot of mechanical moving parts and play for so long they fail. Plastic parts dont help much either. The pinch roller takes up the slack and is usualy the part that fails first because it constantly runs along the tape and builds a coating on the rubber so it doesnt grip the tape and pull it back into the cassette. If its not pulling the tape back in then it hangs up inside and you cant get the tape out. Fastforward uses the reels to pull the tape not so much the roller. Try and stop 2 times then fast forward then eject the tape. Try and eject the tape while its fastforwarding so it doesnt do anything else. Sometimes machines will unload after its been in fastforwad a while then it will eject. You will hear a change in the sound when it unloads, you can hear the mechanical arms move the tape in and out of the cassette. Thats when you eject it. You cant really clean it till you get the tape out. YOu can clean the pinch roller with fingernail polish or paint remover. It is a wheel inside it looks like a black tire. It pinches the tape against the capstan arm this is why it developes a film or a shine on the rubber making it slip.

SOURCE: Remove Cassette Error

I repair gl2s for canon and when you get a remove cassette message 9 times out of 10 it is 2 gears on the m-chassis that have failed they spit oil all over the inside and then the gear comes in contact with the m-chassis and binds up they are both white and in the middle you can see one when you open it and the other is on the inside that you cant see unless you take take the cover off and thats why you get that message but the ribbon part is something else that needs to be looked at you should send it in to a qualified canon repair facility. tell them the chassis is defective its actually code D106, E52, send those codes in with canon and make sure they see them.

SOURCE: Left Deck Door Stuck Shut on Cassette Deck

The cassette mechanism has a large gear that rotates to different positions for the different modes. On time around is a play - stop cycle. It is stuck in one position and won't come around to the stop spot. Need to take the cover off and help it to turn to get the cassette out. Then figure out if something is wrong preventing it from turning or if the wheel driving it is the problem. They are all a little different so this is where your mechanical apptitude comes in.
By the way, you'll figure out right away they don't intend these things to be fixed.
Hope Ya Fix It.

SOURCE: the cassette door is stuck

I had a similar problem after a tape that I put in it broke while playing. With the cassette carriage in the up position (but not fully open), I did the following:

  1. Remove carriage door (two screws).
  2. Carefully pull lose (broken) tape out of the player mechanism.
  3. Remove power cord.
  4. Remove battery.
  5. Reconnect power. The cassette carriage then lowered back into the unit.
  6. Press the eject button. The cassette then rose and fully ejected.

Where is the rewind on this cassette player?

Cheap cassette players have no rewind feature. This allows the mechanism to be simpler and cheaper; they just 'pull' the tape forward constantly, without the pinch wheel for "fast" [sic] and with the pinch wheel for "play".

To work out if this is the problem with your cassette player, look inside with no cassette inserted. If one of the spindles is plain, without the "three-pronged" device to engage with the spool, then you have the cheap device with no rewind. Turn the tape over, and fast-forward.

I have a VCR tape stuck in an old machine is there a trick to getting it out? It doesn't release it from the internal mechanisms! want the movie back!

I've had this happen to me a few times. The only way I could get the tape out was to take the VCR apart and carefully pull the tape out of the mechanism and all the tape that had pulled out of the cassette into the machine had to be carefully rewound back into the cassette. The tape itself is usually folded into many folds - so the movie needs to be copied as soon as possible onto a new cassette; as it won't play too many times with all the folds before getting stuck again into the VCR.

There is a little button near the door on the side of cassette itself that will allow you to open the door and rewind the tape easier.

Have a jvc camcorder turn on and it says safe mode remove battery

Forget the battery, the mini dv carrage assy can get out of sync and initiate the safe mode, if you noticed a problem loading the tape or have heard a gear skip sound thats the problem. The best you can do with those camcorders is keep the tape in the camcorder!!!!! That will prevent the problem and insure many good years of recording.

Sorry,

Tim.

Camera cassette errors

Often in this situation there are two issues that can casue the problem you are having. 1. The tape is casuing the camera to "reject" it. In other words, it thinks there is something wrong with the tape so it is warning you with the error message. Perhaps the cassette has been damaged slightly. This error can also happen when the tape has been used often or taped over a few times. Solution: Try using a new tape. 2. The camera may need to be cleaned. The recording heads may be dirty and it doesn't matter what tape is placed in there. Purchase a cleaning tape from a consumer electronics store. Make sure you read the directions very carefully. These are cheap fixes. If it works, great. Otherwise it may need to be serviced by your local technician. Let me know how it goes.

Unit in safeguard mode

You mix te info with Write protected tapes.
Safe guard mode is caused by the motor that takes the tape out of it's case, through the mechanics and past the video head.
If for some reason the electronics detect that it's been done by too much force, the safe guard issue promts.

I am a sanyo VCR technician and i will share to you what i had encountered. the problem of your VCR is in the mechanism "slide front" unable to push out the ejector portion of the tape. If you can locate this part just push it so that the tape will eject.
