Give me blood sugar levels

They vary throughout the day. For someone without diabetes, a fasting blood sugar on awakening should be under 100 mg/dl. Before-meal normal sugars are 70-99 mg/dl. "Postprandial" sugars taken two hours after meals should be less than 140 mg/dl. What Is Normal Blood Sugar Level Diabetes Self Management

Can antibiotics cause blood sugar readings to drop

Certain antibiotics, the floxacinins, can cause blood sugar levels to drop in about 1% of persons. It is easy enough to take an alternative, but ask a doctor if action is even needed. You might just be told to eat a few jelly beans, as diabetics do when they have a hypo. Don't try to mamge it yourself though, as it must be assessed.

What are low glycemic index foods

This index indicates the relative effect of a food on the body's blood sugar level. Pure glucose has a GI of 100.

A low GI food is one with an index of less than 55, and will have less effect on blood sugar level rise, so is better for diabetics.

GI is not an indicator of speed of blood sugar rise after eating, but generally speaking low GI foods will also release glucose to the blood more slowly.
