A WiFi connection potensWL has popped up on my wifi settings. I do not know what this is but want to delete it. How do i do it? I have a Samsung Galaxy tab 2.

Hi
To connect to a WiFi system, you may need 3 pieces of information:
A username
A password
An encryption key
Once you have successfully linked to a WiFi access point then your tablet will remember the settings until told to forget them. To do this, tap on the connection in >Settings >Wireless and networks and ou will be given 3 options, Connect, Forget, Cancel. You need "Forget".
A lot of the time you may only need the encryption key, and if the tablet detects a WiFi access point then if you tap on that in wireless settings then it will either connect automatically or ask you for some sort of code - the encryption key. If this is not entered correctly then it will return an authentication problem/error. In order to connect you have to have this code.
It is worth remembering that your tablet will always notify you (via Wireless and Network settings) of all wireless networks that are within ita range.
Cheers

How to delete network on tab4

To delete a wifi network from an Android device first open wifi settings and the list of networks.

Touch and hold the network you wish to remove.
An option will pop up to "forget network" this will delete it from memory and it will no longer connect to this network.

When you have a wifi tablet you need to find a wifi access point. Som are free like a coffee shop others are $. Most have a password requirement. That is what WPS prompt is. Who ever owns that wifi access point does not want freeloaders only those folks that know the password. Find a free wifi and you should get on the internet just fine.

  1. With the Samsung Galaxy TAB turned off, press and hold the VOLUME Down button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
Note: If you see "Downloading" on the screen with an Android shoveling you pressed the wrong Volume key. Remove and reinsert the battery and try again.

My tablet is not connecting wireless although it clearly has a signal

There's an instructional video here:
http://support-us.samsung.com/spsn/howto.jsp?channelId=1280&scheduleId=3433

If that doesn't work, try connecting to an open / unsecured network to see if that works.

If you can connect to an open wifi, but not an encrypted one it most likely is because either the password was entered incorrectly or you're using an encryption type not supported by the tablet.

Please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks.
