SOURCE: HP C6280 All-In-One: Problem with "Set As New Defaults" feature

What is happening, is the memory battery has failed.
When you remove the power, the settigs are stored in memory, and that memory is maintained by a lithium battery, either in the memory chip itself or mounted to the board.
If the battery is not good, the machine will reset back to the original factory settings.

SOURCE: Custom Paper Sizes for HP Photosmart C3180

I have a 3100 series HP. On it you select "Properties", then the "Features" tab. On that tab, there is a "Resizing Options" menu item. It has a drop down menu with "Letter", "More...", and "Custom" choices. There you can define the size.

SOURCE: HP printer not printing entire document

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

C6280 will not print on card of more than 160 grams

Sounds like the settings may need to be checked. Are you sure there is no pieces of paper in the path? Also, did you change the density of the cards from what you used to use?

Magenta and pink don't print color well, have lines in it and are not the color they should be, HP Photosmart C6280 All-In-One printer. Issues with indivial print heads, cartridges are full, color is not...

Is your other color heads are working fine? Have you tried doing the printhead cleaning process. While giving print, just click properties in the page. Go to settings and you can continue with the software wise cleaning process. To do it manually, just visit this link.

I am trying to print 4*6 pictures on c6280 from my Apple PC. No matter what settings I ask for it pulls the paper from the 8.5*11. How do I set it to print 4*6 pictures?

Hi, It senses the size of paper you put in the tray, that is if you have placed A4 paper, that is what it will use. Options are, use 6*4 paper or print 2 up on A4. To use 6*4 paper raise the paper tray and then pull out the photo tray. If you can't follow this, go to http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01150745.pdf

My printer will not print

You do it through the software on your PC. HP has user software that you installed when you set up the printer. There is usually a setting for color/BW there. Otherwise use the printer properties settings.

I purchased a C6280 all-in-one printer on 7-2-08.  Iwould like to know how do I print 5x7 and 8x10 photoson an 8x10 photo paper.  I can not find out how to do it looking through the manual. ...

We neeed to manually set the size of the paper in order to print on abaove paper sizes.

Open the HP Solution Center and click on settings >> print settings >> printer settings.

Now select the paper type as plain paper and click OK.

Now click on custom settings and enter the size of the paper and give it a name and click OK.

Now close the solution center and reopen it again.

Now click on settings >> print settings >> printer settings.

Now check whether we have the name that we gave to the custom size previously. Select it and then click OK and then try to print.

Having trouble trying to figure out how to get the paper set.

As this card is not suppourted by the all-in-one. We need to manually set the size of the card in custom settings under print settings in HP Solution center. Also choose paper type as plain paper and click OK.

After entering the size of the paper and giving it a name, once close and reopen the solution center and then select the name which we have given to this size and click OK and try to print.
