SOURCE: How do I slow down a Benrus battery operated wall clock

The second hand may be slipping on the shaft or misadjusted. This is basically a press-on fit.

Battery operated George Nelson Ball clock running slow

Probable cause is low battery voltage, maybe the battery was not fresh or was of too low quality. For such a nice clock, extra cost in getting an Energizer Ultimate Lithium or VARTA Professional Lithium cell is justified and the AA sized battery with 3000 mAh will work for many years. Otherwise, use Alkaline batteries and don't forget to check the expiration date always. Check to get some ideas on what to buy and what to expect.

I have a Benrus 737 watch ;with no operating instructions. It was purchased from Wal-Mart as a gift approximately 10 years ago.

The Benrus watch you have is not the Benrus watch that became world famous years ago. In fact, "The Benrus Watch Company" went bankrupt in the late '70s . However, the Benrus watch that you have is made by Benrus (not the original one) and you can contact them via email: Contact Steve Laughlin for the information you're looking for.

Melvin, I hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Yes, this battery maintains the laptop BIOS information including the date and time. If the time slows down it indicates the battery is nearly flat and needs replacing.

Analog hands not moving but digital part works fine.

A Benrus advance is not a Casio PRG-60T Tough Solar Protrek watch. You posted your query in the wrong place.

Slow clock

Is there a separate battery for the clock memory? If so I would try changing that. Otherwise the clock is probably busted. Digital clocks would not normally loose more than a few seconds a year. If the clocks crystal oscillator broke it may cause this. That could happen if the crystal was not glued down or came loose.
