It may be possible to repair it if you know what you are doing. It may be smart to take it to an authorized person/company that deals with these things. I hve never personally tried it but ime sure if it just broke off the seating if its not too badly damaged you could reattach it yourself by appying a little crazy glue then re solder it back into the proper pins. If you cant then you will have to purchase a new board.

My ps2 reset button is kind of ruined... help!?

The plastic (back part of the) button is likely cracked or broke off.
If you are not sure what you are doing when it comes to opening the console and examining it, it would be best to take it to someone that knows how to make adjustments to a PS2/electrical components. The connector and data ribbons are quite sensitive in the PS2 and if you're not careful, the ribbons or other components might get damaged permanently.... especially if you are touching it without an anti-static/grounding strap.

Maxtor One Touch 4 won't open

Hi, Generally one of three things will have happened, They damaged the cord, broke the connector inside the drive or they shorted the board by bending the connector. In the first case you can replace the AC adapter. In the other two cases it's not generally worth repairing due to cost. You can try locating a connector with the same voltage amperage and polarity to test the drive but you simplest solution in all three cases is simply to purchase a new enclosure at the local PC store and have the techs put the harddrive from the maxtor enclosure in the new case for testing(about $40). If this works you're done. If not the short may have damaged the cicuit board on the HDD. If the drive itself is damaged and you need the files that are on it you will need the help of a pro. Try the above suggestion and comment back here as to your results, if you need a pro, include your country and city in the comment and I will make an appropriate recommendation. Chris

Xbox 360 console powers up by itsself.

He may have just tossed the controller onto a chair and it hit the X button in the middle. If that's not the case, it may be a software glitch. This happened to me before, where it turned itself on when the controller was face-up with nothing on it. I just pulled out the power cord. Eventually the problem went away, and it doesn't turn itself on anymore.

So just pull the power, and plug it back in when he wants to play it.

i did the same to mine. it could be that it is over heating. if the fan doesnt come on as soon as you turn on the switch then thats ur big problem. there easy to buy. easy to install. or it could be the same that happened to my labtop when i dropped it. try shaking the ps2 and listen for moving parts. it could be the power chips that got knocked off the circuit board. i had to soilder mine back on

Dark screens

No.. most likely the ribbon cable that connects the lcd screen to the rest of the ds has been damaged or knocked loose. Or the circuit board somewhere has been cracked or damaged, affecting the circuitry that sends a signal to the lcd screen.

Is it under warranty? You can maybe send it back to Ninendo for repair. Or open it and attempt to repair it yourself. Otherewise I'm afraid the DS is just broken...

Sensor Bar

well i don't know about australia, but you can easily get sensor bars on the internet (heavy shipping costs?). if that isn't possible try a store that sells games like walmart. along with video games there should be a few accessories on the shelf.
