Description

The clock signal is absent for 5 sec or more after the fan drive signal has been generated. The detail codes of the fans in question are as follows:

Causes

The fan wiring is faulty (short circuit, open circuit). The fan is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty.

Remedy

1. Foreign matter Is there foreign matter that prevents the rotation of the fan? YES: Remove the foreign matter. 2. Wiring, Connector Are the wiring and connector of the fan normal? Developing fan (FM1): DC controller PCB (J302B) Fixing fan (FM2): DC controller PCB (J308B) Curl reducing fan (FM4): DC controller PCB (J311B) Curl reducing fan (FM5): DC controller PCB (J311B) Electrical unit fan (FM3): main controller PCB (J1028) NO: Correct the wiring and the connection. 3. Fan, DC controller PCB Try replacing the fan. Is the problem corrected? YES: End. NO: Replace the DC controller PCB.

No link provided on the site, but following the product number pattern, this worked.

Is the wiring from the scanning lamp to the reader controller PCB normal?
NO: Connect the connector firmly, and correct or replace the wiring.
2. Inverter PCB, Reader controller PCB
Try replacing the lamp inverter PCB. Is the problem corrected?
YES: End.
NO: Replace the reader controller PCB.

For Trane sytems, B is your "Common" wire. O is your reversing valve relay, G is your fan, Y is your compressor contactor, R is Hot, Brown will not be used on your electronic tstat. X2 is your backup electric heaters. Without knowing what terminals are on your new tstat, I cannot offer more information than this. The installation manual may indicate what each terminal is controlling. I strongly suggest to write down ALL of the terminals and colors from your old t-stat and be sure to turn off the power to your air handler. Put the fan switch on your tstat to ON before turning off the power. Make sure the fan is running. Then turn the power off to your Air Handler. If your fan stops running, you have turned the power off to your tstat and are ready to start replacing it with your new tstat. I hope you find this helpful. Good Luck!!!

If this is a switch for a Honeywell ceiling fan, I have two new UC-9160 wall controllers. I can sell them to you.

It's one of two issues; either the wiring to the thermostat is incorrect, or possibly you have an open ground. Depending on your system the wires at the thermostat end might have to pair up on one lead. go to where your unit is and look at the schematic for the control board, it will let you know what color you are looking for on the blower lead -- then make sure the corresponding color matches at the thermostat. Knowing the make and model of you unit and the board on it would allow me to be more specific, hope this helps you out some in the meantime.
