We have a problem with our Rinnai 24 hot water service. Hot water goes hot and cold. Does not keep to 38 degrees temperature when showering.

Do You know if there is an anti scald valve in the shower valve? If so it may be scald up with corrosion and need replaced! To see if this could be the problem, flush the toilet next to the shower while the shower is running. If temperature changes in shower I would say that is your problem! If You need to replace it, it would be cheaper to do it yourself! They should be videos on Youtube on how to do it! Good Luck! Regards!

Adjusting Apollo hot water tank

I am not sure what you are asking, But i am going to assume that you want to know about changing the Temp on the heater for inside the house.
If the floor heat was installed properly than it should have a temperture manifold or adjustable thermostat for seperate heating.
You need to find the thermostat or manifold for the garage heat and set it at what ever temp you want the garage to stay at.
Then you can change the A B C knob to a higher setting A is cold B is warm ac is hot. So Increase your temp setting on the heater and this will increase your house water temp for hotter showers and faucet temps. However, they recommend not setting the temp above 120 degrees to prevent severe burns.
If you have a newer home increasing the Hot water heater temp setting may not change the temp at the shower or faucets if you have scald guard faucets installed in the house. This will require adjusting the scald guard valves on each faucet.
I recommend using a candy thermometer or digital thermometer to check the faucet and shower Temp prior to using them and make sure that you inform everyone in the house after you change the temp so that no one gets scalded.
I hope this answers you question, feel free to contact me if you need more help!

Vaillant Boiler 628 suppling no Central Heating

If the zone valve was replaced and wired correctly then it is likely the zone controller if u have one. Manually open the valve and turn the tstat up if it begins to circulate then it is a controller issue. If you still get no heat (circulation) than it is the circulator pump or the pumps controller. Its best to test those individual parts with a multimeter to avoid buying parts not needed

Water heater fires and runs for 2 or 3 minutes and then cuts off.It tries to refire 2 or three times but wont .Red light inside comes on as if it is out of gas.I changed the T-stat and ECO and it still...

First of all, lets see if water is hot already by releasing pressure relief valve slightly and seeing if water is already hot.BE CAREFUL NOT TO SCALD YOURSELF! Shut water pressure off, first, but be aware it will still be under pressure at first.. Just hold a cup, or something under it and open it up slightly, or at least feel pressure relief valve to see if it feels warm/hot to touch. May just be by-pass not set properly in back of water heater. Let me know if hot from pressure relief at outside on heater.

Rinnai Infinity 26 hot water system set to 55 degrees with remote temp adjuster. Water only luke warm for showers. Burnner working, water & gas pressure ok. Any thoughts ... Stephen

If you aren't getting any error codes, then the heater is probably doing its job. Your problem is probably somewhere in your plumbing system. The most common reason you get this sort of problem is due to cold water mixing in the hot water system. There are a number of causes for a "cross connection" :

-Faulty check valve
-Missing check valve on reciculation return line
-Faulty shower cartridge
-Thermostatic mixing valve set too low
-Faulty thermostatic mixing valve
-Faulty anti-scald valve

The easiest way to confirm a cross connection is to: 1) shutoff the cold water entering the tankless heater 2) open hot water valves around the house. If you still have water flowing at your hot water fixtures, then you have a cross connection.

Beeping noise

E2 means hot water over shot, make sure to check boiler hot water system to make sure zone valve or control is staying closed when the call for boiler hot water to the water heater is isolated. Sometimes a zone valve will fail open or not close properly causing hot boiler water to constantly feed the water heater.

Hot water out of taps is not very hot.

What is hot? Above 122F causes scald within 30 seconds. Get a temperature reading at tap. Use a candy thermometer if need be. If you want 140F water then your gas valve needs replacing.
In most code areas it is now illegal to deliver tap water over 125F to a consumer faucet.
You may love 140F but you jeopardize kids and Seniors.

Water temperature varies while useing the hot water during a normal shower. jg

Try this before replacing the shower diverter valve.

If this problem is isolated to the shower only, then I would suggest that the shower diverter valve is equipped with an "Anti-scald" safety feature that can not be adjusted, however the temperature regulator/thermostat on the water heater can be adjusted to a lower temperature so as to not activate the the "Anti-scald".

Water Heater Repair

If steam or excessively hot water shoots out of faucets, or you hear boilding sounds inside the hot water heater, the appliance may not be shutting off at its set temperature. The job of the temperature- pressure (TP) relief valve is to release excessive pressure from steam buildup, but this valve may have been improperly installed, or it may be faulty. Either way, this condition can be dangerous, both because hot water and steam can scald people and because enough pressure could build up to rupture the water heater. Immediately turn down the water heater’s temperature setting and allow the water to cool.
