Make sure you battery is good. Have a block heater installed. Keep it in a garage. Keep it in a tent cover.

In Canada, we go down to minus 40'C with windchill. I have a block heater, and the car always starts.

Sort of in a very complicated 3 way tryst with a lady 4,500 miles away and my sister in law. I am twice a widower and I am also 63 :>) One thing you can do it put a blanket over the engine to hold the heat in a bit longer, make sure it isn't in the fan or pulleys by putting a sheet of cardboard over first. Also put foil over the front of the grill to keep the wind out.

    Stay warm yourself.

My father -in-law used a dip stick heater many years. also knew of a trucker that used charcoal in a can under his engine nightly.

Running cold, over flowing through the reservoir now overheating

o2 code is your exhaust and unrelated to the overheating. It is not your head gasket unless the coolant is flowing out off the engine or burning white smoke through the exhaust.

Sounds like you have so much air in the system that it has pushed out the coolant through the overflow and now overheats because air does not cool the engine. You should have a coolant bleeder nut, typically close to the thermostat. Whenever you change or add coolant you have to bleed out the bit of air that gets in.
