Is there a fuel filter on snow thrower model 247.98536

manual can be had at link below, if carb. is leaking fuel chances are it has dirt in it and requires rebuilding which I will post a second link to.

If the snow thrower worked last year I would suspect old fuel in the tank. Dump out the old fuel in the tank and put in fresh. Put a squirt of starting fluid in the carb and try to start it. If it fires the ignition is good. Do this a few times to pull the old fuel through the carb and fuel line. When the new fuel gets through the fuel system to the engine it will stay running. The spark plug in the engine will have number on it. Get one with the same number if you want to replace it.

Around the back of the engine, just below the cylinder cooling fins. The shut off should face you if standing in front of the recoil starter, for the fuel tank. The fuel line should wrap around I the side of the carb and be protected by the metal cover surrounding it.
