Question about Bosch Ovens

1 Answer

Bosch oven error code F43; breaker reset doesn't work. Door ok (though it locked while using broiler). Beeps continuously. Worth fixing? OK to use gas burners without power? Smells very gassy.

HG5255UC/01 FD No. 840700213 - we just inherited the stove. It's 14 years old. Worth replacing the board? Any other way to fix error 43?

Don't use any appliance that smells of gas or partially burnt gas. Time for a new one or a professional Bosch service engineer. Your call?

Here is the Error Code

F43Upper (or single) oven motorized latch will not lock; defective or jammed upper (or single) oven door or latch switches; defective latch motor or its wiring.

  1. Check P24 connector on the power board.
  2. Ensure door latch switches are operating properly.
  3. Check that neither latch switch nor common wires are pinched to the appliance chassis.
  4. Check P10 connector and check if latch motor wire is pinched to the appliance chassis.
  5. If F43 persists, replace power board.

14 years is really no age for a Bosch. Our GE is from 1976!

Door latches are here as a guesstimate

Power Board is over $300! But may not need it.

Labour would be about an hour plus callout.

wish you were in NYC! Really appreciate your advice. I also thought it was young but the Bosch HQ tried to convince me that it should go out to pasture

NYC, a meal and a movie? :>) I am in Canada, near Toronto. I am not a Stove engineer, I am a master chef, and hospitality pro. I owned a 14th century Inn and watermill in Cornwall, UK and moved here in 2005. I am very old (63) and twice a widower. I manage an airport lounge here. If ever you end up at YYZ, come say hi.

Getting back to the stove. If it all works, is reasonably clean, it is worth spending the money to fix. A new one is going to cost you about 3 grand. If you have the money and the inkling for a nice shiny new one, go for it.

Lol. I am a mere decade younger than you :) but this is the first stove I've owned (came with the co-op we bought a year ago in the east village). I've been to Toronto a few times and may end up nearby sometime soon - will definitely look up the master chef-hospitality pro-airport lounge manager- stove whisperer!

F43 error on Frigidaire Wall Ovn?

The code F43 means - The cooling fan speed, as read by the tachometer input of the EOC-display board, is abnormally too slow. when the cooker is on can you feel the fan is on through the upper vent? If not then the fan is the problem if you can then the fan sensor is the problem!

Whirlpool built in electric oven

The upper element is for broiling and should not come on until you tell it broil. If it is coming on as soon as you turn on the breaker then it sounds like the printed circuit control board is bad. There is a relay on the board that engages when you program in the broiler. The relay can be hard to find and may not be removable. My broiler would come on when I programmed in the bake mode, go into runaway heat, put up a F10 code, and shut off. I could not clear it until I programmed in the clean mode for 2 hours. Now it works great.

My Kenmore Elite oven door is locked and I am getting an F93 error message. I have had repairmen here 3 times already to fix the problem. Can you help?

The F93 - Maximum oven door lock time exceeded. First thing to try is holding the clear button down for 3-5 seconds sometimes this unlocks the door and then leaves the loc light still on in this case you would open the door and once again hold down the clear to make the loc light clear. If your unit doesnt have a clear button then you would hold the stop button for the same amount of time as described above. If this doesn't work try shutting off the power at your electrical breaker for 7 minutes this usually causes the control to reset in the unit. If you have any further questions or if this does not work to allow you to be able to open the door and clear the error code message me back for further diagnosis. Thanks

I did a self clean for 5 hours yesterday on my upper oven and almost when it was completed it showed an error code of F9, I cleared that and then it came up with an F2 error code 9 times. After it stopped...

I am so sorry, for your delema...
If I was around at the time you purchased your unit i would have told you, "NEVER USE THE SELF-CLEANER," Because it uses a much higher tempuature then the wires can handle..
There maybe a wire or two burnt and the computer sees them at a low resistance and the computer is not letting operate an unsafe oven.
You need to remove oven from the wall... Check ALL wires and also check the thermistat probe at the connection with the electrical. If thermistat has a resistance, OK, If no reading.. replace thermistat. If you feel that all wire are OK put back oven and if it does not let you bake,... replace computer. That is Very costly

Broiler won't turn off. Error code F-3

The broiler won't turn off even when you press the "Off/cancel" button? It sounds like the broiler control relay is stuck shut. The F3 code means the oven temperature sensor has failed, this probably happened because the oven got too hot when the broiler was stuck on. There is fail-safe thermal fuse that will blow if the oven gets too hot, so the oven won't melt down but you should leave the unit off so you don't blow the fuse.

To fix the relay, you will have to replace the oven control module. I think this is about $200 and not too hard to replace if you are somewhat handy. The temperature sensor is also serviceable, you can find parts at Appliance Parts Pros on the web. Hopefully you haven't thrown the range out yet, let me know if you need further assistance.

Whirlpool RF367LXS Ceramic Glass Range not working

Almost every time I run the SELF CLEAN cycle on my Whirlpool Self Cleaning range, it fails to function after completing the self clean cycle, even though it completes the cycle of cleaning and unlocks the door. What I do to solve the problem, I power off the BREAKER for the range at the main electrical panel in the house and wait 30 seconds, then power on....and the whole system works just fine until the next time I clean it. This has been a problem from the beginning. My theory is that the electronics get heated up and, like a computer, the system stalls out and needs a complete hard reboot. Good luck!

F9 code

I hit the same F9 problem when trying to self-clean, except that the door was locked OPEN.

After much trial and error, I found the following fix: 1. Switch circuit breaker off. 2. Switch circuit breaker on. 3. Press Bake button. 4 Press the small/inside button which indicates that the oven door is closed.

The lock mechanism opened and the oven now works fine.
