Faulty wires/ connections are the usual cause of hums on speakers. Try checking if the wires are properly connected. If it still hums, try replacing the wires with a known good wire.

Woofer is humming

Usually a faulty cable or blown speaker will cause a humming. If it is a constant humming I would surmise a faulty cable. On the other hand, if the humming comes and goes I would guess a faulty speaker.

Low independence light comes on and a humming sound what is causing this?

Humming from subs? If from inside amp, your experiencing a problem with a driver board. It makes transistors latch on and loads down the transformer, causing light to come on. And vibrations "hum" from transformer.

Speakers started making a humming noise

HI:
Usually with audio humming, the cause is due to a bad capacitor on the amplifer portion of the unit. Bad filter capactor in the AC power suppy will cause whats known as AC ripple to enter the system causing motorboating sound or humming. Have the unit check by a technician for poor regulated DC voltage.

If there is a router or you leave your phone near the speakers that is what is most likely causing the problem. Check to see if anything that gives off a wireless signal (eg. microwaves, cell phones, cordless phones) are nearby, and try to see if moving one of those things fixes your problem.

Hi, what causes hums from speaker is when there is no ground shield from either the power supply or from the cable you plugged into the socket from the power supply.

So you will need to check that out and replace untrusted cables for connection..

If after doing this troubleshooting exercise, you will now need to test the speaker with another set to be sure the humming sound is not coming from there.

I guess that will Do.

Have a nice day...

I get a humming sound when the ipod is attached,

the hum comes from three possible sources, the power unit can cause it before failure, the amplifier which can effect one or more speakers or the interface board between the other two, the interface board and the power board are known problems to b and w, so if you have not already contacted service at b and w, then do so.

Annoying humming sound coming from subwoofer...

The humming sound usually comes from the DC supply that is not filtered. The a/c converted or changed to DC needs to be "cleaned", before going into the ckt. Usually the capacitor and resistor network go bad, maybe causing the fuse to open. Even if you replace it, u may still have the "humming" because the circuit is still bad.
If you know how to look at the capacitor, resistor,or coils AFTER the diodes & replace the damaged part, u should be good!
