If your LG phone is like mine, you need to text the sound file to yourself and when it arrives in your inbox (and it usually has to be less than 350 KB) you can go to options and set the file as your ringtone.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: How can I get the music I put on my sd card to be ringtones

Well first off you need two save your ringtones to the card and then plug the sd into your computer. The sound your trying to turn into a ringtone will need to blend in, meaning you will need to make sure its the same format as the other ringtones, and place it in the same folder.

Go to your app store and install a ringtone maker, then select the music from the SD card, edit it to the part you want, and save it as 'song name ringtone' (so it doesn't overwrite the original song).

Set my fav tunes as ringtone ?

Ringtones or songs downloaded or copied to your storage card are not automatically added to the ringtone selection menu. You need to go to the Music application and set a ringtone or song in your storage card as your ringtone. To do that top up arrow and Music then tap the three paralel lines at the bottom-left corner of the screen to go to the Library. Play the song that you want to use as a ringtone and on the Playback screen, press MENU and then tap Set as ringtone.

To change the ringtone press MENU, and then tap Settings. Tap Personalize > Default ringtone. The Phone ringtone selection menu then opens and you can scroll through the available ringtones and tap the ringtone you want to use then tap OK.

I want to download an app to download songs and ringtones

Method 1:
Transfer the song(s) you want to set as ringtones onto the microSD card either by connecting to pc via USB or using an SD adapter. Next, Tap on the Music Player, open the music list, press the menu button and select PLAY ALL, this will scan your SD card for music/audio files. Once all your songs have been added to the list, select the song you want to set as ringtone and click MENU key, choose SET AS RINGTONE and that will take you to the RIngtone Trimmer, make the ringtone 30 seconds or less, select Trim and you're done.

Method 2:

Root your HTC Hero, create a directory in your C: drive and name it HeroRIngtones, HTC, or whatever and put there all the ringtones you want to be added (30 seconds or less), then open Command Prompt; make sure your device is connected and already visible. Run the following command "adb push directoryname/myringtone.mp3 /system/media/audio/ringtones" and press enter. Do same procedure for all the audio files you want to set as ringtones.

Method 2 is not available for non-root users.

How do i use songs from my sd card as ringtones

The phone is not designed to read data stored on a sd card. Acquire the ringtone from the network instead or upload the tunes on the SD card onto a computer to be saved to a network site from where to download to the phone which should have been connected by which time the network.

Ringtones

The phone will only play ringtones applied to its memory. You need to move the tone from the SD card to the phone. First check your user manual for ringtone specifications. It should tell you how big a file you can use.You may have to edit the song to fit.

Can i put a song from my SD card as an ringtone on my pantech duo?

You can but the file needs to be labeled My Ringtones. If you have tones in the ringtone folder and its still not working check the size and format of the tones, windows mobile 6 was only designed to accept tones under 320k and in .mp3 or .wav formats.
