I persevered and finally solved the jig saw puzzle of pieces. The base is now assembled and just waiting for the saw body to be remounted. Thanks everyone for looking at this post.

SOURCE: De Walt radial arm saw old model 7740. Am trying to restore it to working condition Very difficult to change the height adjustment due to binding when trying to turn the handle on the top.

The manual for the saw is included below, To free the height it may be best to remove the saw carriage from the arm to reduce the weight.

Use WD40 or equivalent to cut the rust and a suitable grease to maintain the freedom. There is a worm screw that is below the cylinder that may need lubricating. The manual shows the assembly. I routinely apply 90 weight gear oil around the large tube where it goes into the housing,

Hi,need to get a owners manual for a Ryobi RA2500 radial arm saw - can anyone help me?

Ryobi has a nice support site http://manuals.ryobitools.com/documents
with most of their manuals but nothing for a radial arm saw. The 2500 just isn't that common. Here are some schematics:
http://www.toolpartsdirect.com/ryobi-ra2500-radial-arm-saw.html

and here is a recall that was issued a while back

How do i get an operating manual for a Ryobi Radial Arm Saw RA200

Not sure where to find this, but please do a search on line for this saw as it was RECALLED by the manufacturer a few years ago because the blade could become detached. Please be safe and make sure that this didn't apply to the saw you have.

Good luck.

How do I release the arm of a radial arm saw to cut miters?

Near the blade there should be a clamp that allows the saw head to be tilted to cut an angle miter through the board. The other miter adjustment is a clamp at the top of the post to let the radial arm swing at an angle, this would be used in conjunction with the other adjustment to cut a compound miter. I hope you are not totally confused now.

Sears radial arm saw; adjustments to tighten arm to column

Uncer normal use a nylon bushing on the column wears out and/or cracks and prevents proper adjustment. You can get any nylon or teflon bushing with the same ID as the column OD and that should do the trick.
