If I remember correctly, there are dip switches on that control board that can be set individually. It is possible that it is just a setup issue. The switch positions should be explained in the installation instructions. I know that some Goodman and Amana two stage furnaces can be controlled by a single stage thermostat, but the dip switches have to be set properly. If the switches are set correctly the furnace will run in low stage heat for approximately 5 minutes and if the thermostat hasn't satisfied yet, it will kick in to high stage heat. I hope this points you in the right direction!

Check fuses first! If yours is the model with a fuse box you will see a flap that pulls down to reveal a block of fuses, the blade fuse you described is part of it too! Are all fuses ok?

I have an evcon furnace that was put on brand new about 5 years ago. I have noticed that it doesn't seem to be kicking off and it doesn't seem to be heating my home either. A line was kinked last year...

This going to be little lengthy. The fan can be on from two reasons. If your thermostat has a fan switch, it will say ON or AUTO. Put it to AUTO. Turn your thermostat to its lowest setting and wait 3 or 4 minutes. If the fan stays running, the problem is in the furnace. Newer furnaces have big circuit boards that control all its functions. The fan automatically starts after a factory set period of time (about 45 seconds). Try a HARD reset to get all the furnace functions back to normal. Turn your thermostat as low as it will go. find the breaker or fuse that serves only the furnace. Unscrew the fuse or turn off the breaker for a good minute and replace/reset it. If the fan starts right away, the board is probably bad. PC relays often arc together and the entire board will need replacement. If the fan is off, turn your thermostat way up and see if the furnace lights. The fan will probably restart in a minute or so as a normal function, heat or no. If the furnace does not fire, Let me know and I'll tell you how to check that switch that was replaced.

I am installing a totaline progammable thermostat, the old one is a rheem, i hooked the b wire to the b terminal the r wire to the r terminal the g to the g terminal and the y to the y terminal the e l and...

First off, make sure that the wires you are connecting at the thermostat match the circuit board of the unit. It is good practice, but not always followed to do a "1 for 1". To answer your question, W2 is simply when there is 2-stages of heating. If your furnace does not have 2-stage heating, then leave it empty on the t-stat. "C" is common. Common is neutral, so it should have continuity to the ground or L2. If your old stat did not utilize this, I wouldn't worry about it, unless the new stat is a touchscreen and constantly lit stat. Just keep this in mind. W-warm (heat), Y-cooling, G-fan, R-hot (main 24v power from furnace to thermostat), C-common (not always required), AUX (auxillary, if there wasn't one used on your last furnace, I wouldn't worry about it.). X may have been a common, or a dead terminal.
Bottom line, if you open your furnace to see the circuit board and where the thermostat wire connects, and match above, you should be just fine. Make sure you turn power off prior to opening the furnace, and when landing the wires on the stat. You could inadvertently blow the 24v transformer.

Gas Furnace trouble

the thermostat sends a signal to the circuit board. Not knowing anymore than I do about your heater or furnace I would suggest that that is a good place to start. Any limit or safety switch wouldnt coincidentally shut off the heater when it reached the set temp.

My goodman gas furnace is not kicking on. the light on the unit is saying that it should be working but it is not. there is no pilot light, the fan is working the heat is not

If you are not getting any codes from the board, then the furnace is not getting a call for heat from the thermostat. A wire may have come off, the thermostat not properly wired, or a break in the stat wire. On a call for heat, you should have 24vac between W and C on the circuit board. This will let you know if you are getting a call for heat all the way back to the furnace.

Ruud air to air heatpump intertherm propane furnace honeywell th5220d non programable thermostate.fan on furnace will not turn off in aux.mode even though the furnace heat kicks on and off. thank you for...

Make sure fan relay is wired correctly (G) wire. Ensure the fan on therm is not on, it should be on Auto or off.

If your furnace is short cycling because it has to keep heating your home, the delay in the control board may be staying on to compensate for the exchangers getting hot. If it heats normally, then put your attention to your thermostat.

Set the heating system on aux heat only. Fan should not be on, if it does stay on after a heating cycle, see if the furnace is heating normally, and reaching temp as desired before the heat comes off. Then check the therm wiring, pull the face of the therm, disconnect green wire (fan) and try the heating again.

There are 4 -steps for full run time to kick in a furnace.. step-1, inducer fan runs & prove thru the air tube which closes a switch and tell the circuit board to go to step-2, the igniter lights the pilot & prove its lit by heating the thermocouple, which tells the circuit board to go to step-3, opens the gas valve to dump gas in, which will light from the pilot light, and prove by a flame sensor metal stick on the last burner , which heats up and tell the circuit board Saying, ok , I've got flame.. step-4. when the box heats up, it closes a switch and turn on the main fan...! (Some gas-valves has a brain -or circuit board on top of them and are real sensetive to moisture..)
