SOURCE: icemaker not making ice

First thing to check is to see if the optics are working properly. This is the red flashing light on right hand side of freezer wall. Close the flipper door, be sure not to block the beam, and the light should go to solid red. If it does then the optics are ok. If it continues to blink then that is your problem. If optics check ok then pull ice maker out and remove the white plastic cover. It just pulls off. Look at the center of the gear wheel and see if one of the plastic tabs is either broken or if they are sort of twisted and touching eachother. If any of these things with the gear have happened then that module will need to be replaced along with the ice maker thermostat. If your not sure how to replace these parts then just replace the whole ice maker. That is much easier and not much more costly.
After changing the parts or the ice maker out follow these steps to start the ice maker thru a cycle. 1. Remove the ice maker from the cradle but leave the harness connected. Remove the front cover from the module. Unplug the refrigerator. Get a small jumper wire with bare ends and jump T and H on the module, leave the jumper in and set the ice maker on the shelf. Close the door. Now plug the refer back in and wait 30 seconds. Open the door and the ice-maker should be cycling. Remove the jumper, put the module cover back on and set it back in the cradle. The fill should take place when the ejector blades reach the 12:00 position. Follow these steps exactly in order

I would suggest not buying a KitchenAid. I have the same problem with my ice maker. Have had nothing but problems with every KitchenAid product that I have ever owned. I will never purchase another KitchenAid product.

SOURCE: No Ice From Kitchen Aid

Mark, your water valve has screwed the pooch. Replace it. The part number is 2199838.

What's happening is this... the valve that fills your ice maker is by-passing a small amount of water. This water has to flow through that tube, right? When very small amounts (drop by drop) go through the IM fill tube, they flash freeze. Eventually they (the frozen drops of water) form a big block of ice inside the fill tube. This ice creates a blockage which creates back-pressure whenever the IM "calls" for water. The back pressure eventually blows the tube off of the connection behind the fridge.

You say that this happened over night... no way. If you look closely at the ice cubes that you IM has been making, you'll see that they are hollow. Hollow cubes means that your IM isn't getting enough water... (because the fill tube is blocked).

SOURCE: ice maker in Kitchen Aid stopped making ice

The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

The ice maker is producing ice poorly When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.

Could some please post how to remover the ice maker from my kitchen aid model ktrc 19 m refrig thank you

Look right above the icemaker part that forms the cubes. Its usually brown in color, Just above it are 2 extensions of that brown part that has 2 screws going into the left side of the freezer, Remove the 2 screws and the unit comes out. The power plug for it is just to the back bottom of the ice maker. If you can see it you can probably just unplug it to stop the noise.

I just replaced the Compressor in my Kitchen aid Ice maker. Charged it to 6.2 pounds of pressure but kitchen aid will not give me the pressures it is supposed to be recharge to. Does anyone know?

Before you charge the system with R-12 freon you should check it for a leak, as with your ice maker it has leak that's why the pressure suppose to be is not reach. It also be clean by flushing R-11 into the system. If you have friend that has technical skill in ref repair ask for help. Better if you find the leak sealed it.
Good luck friend.

Kitchen Aid KSCS25INSS ice making replenishment rate has been diminishing for about a month. Today it stopped dropping ice completely. The ice tray has frozen cubes which will not fall

There could be many reasons for this problem. Because you said the ice maker stopped with ice in the trays leads me to focus on the ice maker alone. I will try to get some photos and links when I return. Sea Breeze

My kitchen aid refrigerator model KSB251NBL..NO ICE

Problem could be a couple of things. One There is a little control in the very back, its should be on the lower right side looking at the freg. from the back.It has a water line running up to the ice maker. If that is ok,you will need to replace the ice maker. It is not a big problem on either.Cost is for the little controll about $30.For the ice maker about &90.

S, the interior light is timed. If you leave the door open for more than 5 minutes, it'll shut off automatically. Close the light switch manually (at the top up there) and hold for 5 seconds. After you release it, you may see a red LED where the clean light is... disregard for now.

Now replace all of the hoses you removed for cleaning. These can be cleaned using the "cleaning method" posted and labeled on the inside of you IM door.

Now go get some of this, or something similar and follow the cleaning instructions.

As an aside here... I ran a service call for a guy who did exactly what you did, except that he chose to go to Home Depot and get all new tubing. (!!!!) Well, the tubing didn't fit and even if it di it was routed improperly. Then he called me to come fix it.

Close to $200 later everything was back to normal. All he had to do in the first place was to maintain his IM like it was a swimming pool. Get the right chemicals and use them as instructed on the label.

Please don't misunderstand. I'm not scolding or anything like that... it's just that sometimes the simplest approach is the best approach. Your high dollar IM is a complicated and computer controlled piece of equipment, when you start pulling the guts out, the "brain" has a difficult time interpreting what your doing, that's all.

Let us know how it goes. If there are any additional symptoms, please let us know immediately.
