SOURCE: oven is cooking unevenly

ladder, here are some suggestions to try to help you with this problem. Make sure that you wait another 10 minutes to put your food in after the preheat light goes out or tone goes on. The manufactures like to get that energy effecient label on these ranges. If your utensil is dark, darkened by age or glass, these will absorb more heat and can cause over browning. Lower the oven temp for these types of utensils or use a pan with a shiney finish. Make sure the utensil is not too close to any oven wall. Do not check for doneness until minimum recommended baking time. Opening the door frequently causes the lower element to cycle and provides too much intense heat. Use the second or third rack from the bottom. Finally, check the owners manual for calibration instructions. You might be off with that. Catriver...post back.

SOURCE: cooking element

You do not list a full model number. Typically a JBP78_____ uses a WB44X10013 bake element. Disconnect power to range. Take out two 1/4 inch hex head screws holding element in at back of oven. Pull element out a few inches into oven. Disconnect wires. Reverse to install. Not too hard if it is an exposed element. A bit more involved on ranges with "hidden" bake elements (which are under the floor of the oven).

When I make banana nut bread, it always falls in the middle, do I need more flour or baking time?

If you are making it in a bread maker, it's the blades that do that. Better off just mixing the ingredients then putting it in a pan in your oven.

Im looking for a receipe for bannana bread

Make Delicious Homemade Banana Bread
Cooking your own banana bread from home is a relatively straightforward thing to do, although it does require a couple of moderately advanced techniques such as creaming butter by hand and folding ingredients together.
BBC Food states that you can prepare your banana bread in under 30 minutes, while cooking time lasts between 30 minutes to an hour in order to produce a delicious loaf of homemade banana bread.

Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Sift your flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt through a sieve and into one of the two mixing bowls, ensuring that you eliminate all clumps and are left with a fine powder in the bowl.

Allow your butter to reach room temperature before creaming the butter and sugar together in the other mixing bowl.
Swirl the wooden spoon in a circular motion to beat the butter and sugar into one another for at least a minute.
The creaming process is finished once you are left with a light and fluffy, even mixture.

Crack open both eggs and add them into the creamed butter and sugar.
Peel all four bananas and lay them flat on a chopping board before mashing them into a pulp using the potato masher.
Add the mashed banana into the mixing bowl along with the buttermilk and vanilla.
Mix these ingredients together using the wooden spoon before adding the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt from the other mixing bowl.
Fold the contents of the bowl using the large metal spoon.
Many chefs use a figure of eight movement, cutting through the surface of the liquid with the leading edge of the spoon remember that the objective is to keep a much air in the mixture as possible, so you should look to turn over the spoon as you complete figure of eight motions, thus replicating a folding motion.

Grease the loaf tin using a small amount of butter or oil, as this will prevent your banana bread from sticking to the tin after you have baked it.
Pour in the ingredients from the mixing bowl, taking care not to spill any or make a mess.
Wait for the liquid to level off so you have a flat, even surface and insert into the oven to bake for approximately 1 hour.

Remove your banana bread from the oven when it has risen and turned a golden brown color. Allow the bread to cool in the tin for 2 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack and allowing to stand until cool.

Digital display is reading F10 and beeping and the oven shuts off after burning Banana Bread I also had smoke coming out the back panel of the stove top

Hello,

The F10 error code means that a button on the touchpad is stuck. The error code can be cleared by pushing the cancel/off button and if the F10 returns the clock needs to be replaced since on that model the touchpad is part of the clock.

Done outside gummy inside

Hi.
I'm guessing that this is a cooking problem, so here goes.

If the food your cooking is done on the outside, but not done on the inside, then you have the temperature at the wrong settings.

Reduce to a lower temp, try with a new batch, and cook it for 50% longer at the lower temp: i.e. if it said 350 degrees for 30 minutes, then reduce to 300 and cook it for 45 minutes instead.

The longer time allows for the heat to penetrate and cook the middle, not just the outside.

I hope this helps you out, and good luck.

When baking bread in my Kenmore electric range (9435) the loaves on the bottom rack burn on the bottom and the ones on the higher rack take almost 2X as long to cook

In an electric range, the ideal place for baking is the middle shelf. there are temperature differences within the oven cavity. On the bottom shelf the heating elements actually "broil" the bottom of the pan. In the upper part of the oven, the temperature is lower, being blocked by the lower pans. A convection style oven is more ideal for bread baking.

Belling 100df dual fuel cooker

Generally, reduce both the temperature and cook time 20% when using convection.  350 F becomes 300 or so, for instance.  One hour becomes 45-50 minutes.
