The gray magnetic float can sometimes get jammed. Check to see if it floats back up when adding water. If not, remove cap, reset magnet so it can move freely and replace cap, be sure the magnet floats to the top of its contained space when water is added. The system should then reset.

The clue here is that the problem involves the hot wate and the single or double espressos. These three functions require accurate water measurements and they are programmable. It appears that the flow meter is not sending the correct information to the control unit. This could happen if you have blockages or if the flow meter is not working anymore. Most likely you need a new flow meter which only costs about $20 and should not be too difficult to replace. It is located between the water tank and the pump.

I have the same exact problem with mine starting today, did you get this figured out? I'd love to know if it's fixable or not as I was planning on selling my previous machine. If it's an expensive repair, I'll just have to ditch this one and go back to my previous one.

Error 8 indicates a technical fault. Try switching off the main switch for about 1 minute and then start it up again. If the error message persists, you will have to have the machine serviced. The most common fault would be that the machine is blocked.
