Hi again Donald

On a Windows 10 computer there will be a small icon down by the clock on the lower right side. It may be hidden under the upward facing arrow ^. Click it and look for the icon that looks like a Monitor. Click it and the top line tells you if you are connected.

Need a solution to provide wireless access for an older HP Pavilion 760N

You can buy a wireless receiver at most computer stores. The receiver plugs into a USB port and receives the signal from your router. If you are hoping to connect to WiFi hotspots, be careful and make sure that you have good security software!

My aspire 3694 computer uses Ubuntu not windows could this be preventing me from having wireless

If you do not have the proper driver to support the WiFi card, it would most definitely be the cause. Also, make sure that the internal WiFi card is enabled (sometimes a combination of an "Fn" key and other key on keyboard - or an out-of-the-way slide switch to send power to the WiFi card) Try connecting to the internet via Cat5 cable and run a check to see if there are additional updates or drivers for your notebook. Good luck!

How to use wifi in my desktop computer

Most desktops do not have a wifi card built into them. You will need to purchase a wifi card and install and then you can use the wifi.

If your wifi card is installed, look for the wifi icon on the bottom right for a windows computer(look for a icon similar to your cell phone signal icon) or top right on a mac( look for an upside down triangle with a round top) . Right click on it and make sure it is turned on.

Will not connect to wifi

Check your wifi settings in the computer to make sure the wifi is turned on and that the security key, WEP or WPS key, are the same in the computer and the router if you have security enabled. If you have an HP computer and a CISCO router try using a different WiFi channel, the router should have 10 channel options if it is a Cisco router and the default channel doesn't always work with HP computers.

I have an asus computer but i cant conect it tru wi-fi signal..what will i do?

First you need to make sure the Asus computer has a wifi adapter either inbuilt or through a separate usb or pcmia card.

Then you need to make sure if you have a wifi router that it is not using encryption.

The encryption could be WPA or WEP coding. If you do not know these codes and if you are the owner of th wifi router, then reset the router and chose new WEP or WPA code which you then record for use with your laptop or any other future wifi devvice that you may use.

If you need further assistance then provide model number and Operating system on your Asus computer Also provide make and model of the wi fi router.

I'm using fujitsu lifebook s2020 and i have a problem with the wifi is kind of disappeared or can i get it back? thank you

Good Day

The first thing you should check is that you WiFi is on. What I mean with that is that laptops usually have a button to switch on or off WiFi to generally save battery life. If you are sure that WiFi is on (usually the WiFi button's light is on) than check if ou can see a netwok adapter.

If you dont see it, there can be two reasons. 1. Another program which got installed on the laptop has controll over the WiFi and the WiFi will not be controlled my your Operating system. 2. Check the properties of your network place. It might contain the WiFi adapter disabled. Ceck under the properties and ut the tick poxes on "Show if adapter is connected" and "Show if there is a problem".

Last resort is to check under you Device manager (Right click My computer, Manage, Device Manager) and make sure the WiFi adapter's drivers are proberly installed.

Hope this helps

Wifi not working

Make sure that driver is installed properly. If it is, check for wifi switch. Make sure it is turned on. In some laptops do not have switches, they use the functions keys to turn them on. Use Fn+F2 or Fn+F3. Also, make sure that you just have one wireless utility activated in the computer. It is more advised that you use the Windows Wireless utility which is more compatible with most types of routers.
Lastly, check your wireless card and the wireless router if they are wireless a,b,g or n. If the router is wireless n, your card should also be wireless n. If your card is just b or g, it would not work.
