SOURCE: Machine not sewing

Make sure you have threaded the machine from right to left, it sounds like the needle thread is trapped under the lower looper thread and cannot form a stitch.........start the threading over from scratch like this:

  1. Lower Looper
  2. Upper Looper
  3. Left Needle
  4. Right Needle
Is there a diagram for how to thread on the inside of the door ?

Follow that slowly and carefully to make sure you have not missed any thread guides on the way, as each one needs to be followed through to ensure correct tension and thread progression.

If you are certain that all threaded correctly, did you have a fabric jam and pulled it loose ? If so, the timing may well be affected.

Post an update and we'll get this right.

SOURCE: I have homespun 4 ply knitting wool and intend knitting a cardigan. I have a pattern for an 8 ply and was wondering if I could used this not sure how to go about it. Thanks Nuccia

Converting a pattern to a different yarn size is difficult. The only way would be to knit a square using needles that you think may work. After knitting a square that is probably 12" x 12", measure and count the number of rows and horizontal stitches in the square and compare that to what is called for in the pattern. You can test, and test, and test, but be prepared that the final garment may not be the result you seek.

FWIW, the "ply" really doesn't have as much to do with the overall result as the actual thickness of the thread.

What does t mean marke in knttig pattern

In your knitting instructions there must have been some indication that a stitch had to be marked. Like a piece of contrasting yarn to make the stitch stand out. Now they are referring to that particular stitch.
