The motor just hums

Most motors that do nothing except hum soon burn out. The exception is the small synchronous motor such as fitted to many small appliances, such as small domestic fan heaters. It is not unusual for them to run slow or seize.
In the case of a fan heater as soon as the motor stops the flow of cooling air stops and the elements overheat...

It would seem there is much detail missing from your question.

My sand and saltwater system 2650 is not even a year old and I just turned it on and it's humming. How do I fix this ?

humming motor indicates a faulty run /start capacitor for the motor
Have a appliance electrician check it out as it is a vital part the starts the motor spinning

My coleman evcon furnace just hums when i turn it on it doesnt engage the blower or fan thing it a quiet hum... Ready to call for repair but i wondered if there was something i could try..would like h

The hum could just be the control transformer, but that's usually a very light and barely perceptible hum. If its a louder hum, and it stops after a few minutes, the hum could be the blower motor refusing to start for any number of reasons, then cycling on its internal winding thermostat.

I'd call a service tech.

I have a new Jacuzzi air tub and was ready to install. When I plug in the motor, there is a humming noise. What is this?

When you turn on the motor and if it just hums when you turn it on then the motor sounds bad.

Hello i havent Used my ready heater 60000 btu since last winter. It was working fine when i unpluged and emptied it...now when i plug it up i hear a hum and nothing else no blower or anything....could ude...

Hi,
The fan motor is setup...
Tear it part and get some WD-40 worked into the motor at the shaft end... then when you get it spinning freely... get some light motor oil worked into the bearing...

Works best if you can tip the heater back so the WD-40 and oil naturally run back into the motor...

either the pump has a broken vane, or motor bearing is frozen up. check for free rotation with power cord unplugged.

Heater is slow to come up to temperature

the valve that allows water to flow is attached to the temp control switch on the dash. if the heater is slow to warm up, it could be your engine thermostat is stuck open.

try this, take off the top cover. plug in the heater and when the humming starts, rotate the fan sharply with a screwdriver. keep your fingers away from the fan. if the fan spins under power your start winding is shot. get a new motor. www dot desatech dot com
